My main goal is to help you to develop your own set of tools, and better understand your unique voice. Make sure to wear clothing you can move in during our sessions, and, most importantly, explore and just have fun!

My background and career have never placed importance on speaking and looking objectively at myself, I wanted to improve that ability. Toya has been very patient and down to earth with me, as raw as I am, in helping me. After a few lessons I already feel confidence growing and enjoy her instruction.

Amber is fantastic with kids as well as kind and patient. She is a native speaker of ASL and can answer any question you have about it. Unfortunately for the last few months she's missed about every third class without even an apology. For the last two weeks she's completely no showed to lessons and is no longer responding to email.

Ever since I was a child, I absolutely loved to write. During my sessions as creative writing tutor, I hope to foster that same love for writing. My students are challenged to stay true to their own voice while simultaneously considering craft, style, syntax, structure, and the myriad elements of engaging, successful writing. My sessions can be catered to a specific goal (standardized testing), or can be an open-ended experience invaluable to academic success.

Matt has been very patient and deliberate with our son and has taken the time to really explain things to Jake in a way he can understand. "Aalok Shah's in depth knowledge of admission testing, coupled with his easy demeanor, made all the difference for our son as he prepped for the college process. In addition to advising our son on the proper material to study, Aalok taught him to strategically tackle each section and manage his question answering time accordingly. He set up realistic weekly goals for our son to meet as well as providing many study guides and materials for his reference. We found Aalok’s advice on college planning extremely useful and he was always readily available to answer any questions that we had. Aalok’s calm and encouraging personality eased the stress surrounding standardized testing. This fall, our son will join the Rutgers University inaugural Honors College Class of 2019 with a full tuition, room & board scholarship worth $102,400. We are extremely grateful to Aalok for the integral role he played in making this happen. We cannot recommend Aalok highly enough to any family who is embarking on the college pathway."
