Experienced International Master ready to help teach how to advance to the next level.

About Florin
I am an International Master and 2015 co-champion of the State of Illinois. I have been coaching full time since 2011 and helping players increase their rating and get more wins!
If you have any questions at all send me a message and I will try to get back to you as soon as possible. Also if you do not see a certain time slot available you can check with me to see if indeed that slot is taken.

For lessons I typically use Dasher:

https://www.chessclub.com/download-software/dasher
and Skype (audio only).
You could try to use the iOS version (https://www.chessclub.com/downloads) instead but it has a few more glitches than the Windows version.

You can get a free 30 day trial on ICC (Internet Chess Club) after that it will be $10/month but it is the best chess server out there for finding the right kind of players.

Right now I
am only accepting online lessons, thanks for stopping by!

Florin is a great instructor. I asked my son (age 12) if he used any of Florin's advice/teachings in his latest chess tournament, and he said, "Yes! I used EVERYTHING he taught me." :)

What a great instructor! After six months of lessons I can say, without a doubt, Florin is the best instructor anyone could hope for. Florin is very knowledgeable and helped me improve my game more than I could ever imagine. He is patient and takes the time to explain difficult concepts. It is not everyday you get the opportunity to receive lessons from an International Master.

I've been playing chess for about 8 years. Aside from being a strong player, I also have experience tutoring players of all ages and skill levels. This includes my time spent instructing a very competitive and successful high school chess team as well as serving as a personal tutor for different families in their homes. Of the hours I have formally tutored, I have amassed a 5 star rating on a comparable website.

Sergey taught me about everything I had questions about and also offered suggestions in helping me to better determine the best way to find the career path that is right for me. Rather than hard and fast lessons, it was an opportunity to spend time, one on one, with a professional and learn from his experiences what works and what doesn't.

I enjoy teaching children of all ages, as well as adults. My philosophy is to make chess a fun experience while improving my students' technical skills.

I look forward to helping you reach your goals.

I have been playing chess competitively since the mid-70's, am a certified Local Tournament Director, and have run chess clubs in many different locations. My current chess rating puts me in the top 5% of competitive players in Texas and the top 10% nationally.

I have an organized curriculum available which I customize to the needs of the student. Another aspect of our lessons requires playing games so I can see that the student has gained the skill taught, and give them an opportunity to put a new skill to practical use. I make use of problems, special playing situations, and review games the student has played once the student learns to write the moves down using standard move notation.

I also offer discounts for group sessions, if interested.

About Mark
I have a BS in Economics (minor Math) and an MS in Economics both from Southern lllinois University at Edwardsville. I also have taken all of the coursework for a PhD in Economics from St. Louis University. I also have 30+ years of experience in Business Economics, Mathematics, and Statistics. I've taught Intro to Business Forecasting (undergrad level), and Introduction to Competitive Intelligence (Graduate Level).

I'm a Veteran of the US Air Force, with a highest rank of Staff Sergeant.

For Chess lessons, I've been a competitive chess player since 1974, and a Life Member of the US Chess Federation since 1974 as well. My current rating is 1790, which places me in the top 5% of competitive players in Texas and the top 10% in the United States. I'm also a certified local tournament director for the US Chess Federation and have ori

I have been coaching students of all ages for the past decade. I am currently coaching for Kids Play Chess in elementary and middle schools while working on improving myself (I intend to become a GM within the next 10 years). I have also taught chess in high school and college environments. I've to chosen to begin coaching 1 on 1 so I can develop more personalized regimens for my students and get the most out of my time and yours. I am currently rated 1900 USCF and have been playing for the past 25 years (since I was three). I would love for you to come and join me on an adventure to become the best chess players possible while having fun along the way!

About Mark
I find that even though chess is a calculated game of strategy, it is important to utilize creativity and critical thinking skills alongside a strong fundamental base. With that being said, chess has one variable component: the players. When coaching it's important to realize what your students' strengths and weaknesses are in order to maximize progress.

Greetings!

My name is Pete Andrews, and I've enjoyed playing chess for 24 years! Most recently, I taught in southern California on behalf of the San Diego Chess Academy. I worked at seven different schools, teaching elementary students basic chess fundamentals with the hope of instilling in them a love for this great game! My style is very interactive, and I am constantly asking questions to ensure that everyone is involved and comfortable with the lesson. The approach we used was to slowly and thoroughly go through brief master games, explaining move by move exactly what was going on, followed by supervised orb (over the board) play. Many of my students improved significantly over the course of their sessions, and I am confident that I can help any motivated student to understand fundamental chess principles, improve rapidly, and have fun! I look forward to working with you!

Sincerely,

Pete

About Peter
Hello!

Whether you've never played a game of chess in your life, or think the terms "en passant" or "castling long" refer to something out of a medieval dungeon, fear not! You've come to the right place! I can comfortably and quickly take a complete beginner and make them a competent player able to play and enjoy chess, or a beginner/intermediate player to the next level through an enjoyable study of instructive games, tactics and sound chess principles! Together we will have fun and improve!

I've been an avid chess player my whole life, and I think it's one of the most engaging and mentally strengthening things you can partake in. Not only is it fun but it also is a game of wits and patience, and I'd love to sit down and help somebody feel they're the best they can be when they sit down for games of chess in the future.

About Rush
I'm hoping to get to work with students who want to dive right into mastering their camera and all it has to offer, whether we're shooting on film or digital, both of which I can offer instruction in. Learning to be in absolute control of your camera and how your settings will affect your photos is key to creating your images & making sure they come out exactly the way you envision them. Our time together will be a full immersion into light-writing. Over the years, I have had approximately 4 years of cumulative formal instruction on the subject, and have been freelancing since 2011, for events such as weddings, anniversaries, baby/bridal showers, graduation and engagement photos, live concerts, and just about anything else you can think of. Previously a Photography student of Daytona State College in Florida, I made the move up to Chicago
in 2015, and am currently studying at Harold Washington College. In the spring I will graduate with my Art Studio AFA. I genuinely look forward to any time spent with someone with a desire to hone their craft, and hope to bring more inspiration to those wanting to bring forth their vision. Aside from photography, I also teach a handful of other subjects that you or someone else may be interested in!

As a seasoned takelessons teacher myself, I was enthralled with Rush's professionalism and deep understanding of photography.
Many of my own students are adults who now finally have the time to learn something they've always wanted to do. So, I decided to follow my little long-term dream of learning more about photography, and boy am I glad I did! Rush is kind and patient, and has a knack for lesson personalization. I can't wait for our next lesson!!
