MORE ABOUT ME
I earned a Master's degree in Spanish from the University of North Texas, where I gained substantial experience as a graduate teaching fellow and teaching assistant. I've also worked at the Wichita Falls ISD as a Substitute Teacher and an English as a Second Language (ESL) Tutor, and at Vernon College as the Tutoring Center Coordinator. In these professions, I've gained a wealth of experience in working with elementary to college-age students, and I would love to have the opportunity to show you how beautiful language-learning can be!

I can teach basic Spanish to anyone who wants to learn the language. We would focus mostly on vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar, working to understand and learn through not just reading and writing but speaking as well since that is one of the most important parts of learning a language. I am flexible though, and we can shape lessons around your goals.
Recently I also have added Spanish as one of my subjects. I took Spanish classes at Rockwall High School and went up through Spanish 4 at the International Baccalaureate level, earning a 6 on the final IB exam. Spanish is a useful and interesting language to have, especially here in Texas.
I look forward to teaching you/ your student :)

I love the beauty of the Spanish language and have enjoyed being a student of the language myself. I practice daily in conversation, in song, and/or via text every day in order to continue improving. As opposed to solely memorizing facts, I can help beginning students learn to effectively communicate in Spanish in a practical way.

With international experience living, working and studying in Spain, I gained vital Spanish language knowledge that cannot be taught in most classrooms. I graduated cum laude with two Bachelor's degrees in Spanish Language and Public Relations from Texas Tech University (Wreck em'!). My Spanish degree involved grammar, history and business studies. I have experience teaching/tutoring spanish and english in a college preparation program as well as internationally. I have also working in the healthcare industry as a bilingual healthcare specialist. My passion is to help students become bilingual in this competitive and diverse society!
While living in Granada, Spain, I worked at a bilingual children's school as an assistant teacher. We conducted the class with both Spanish and some English lessons. During my time at TTU I worked with Upward Bound, a program for first generation high school students (those whose parents do not have a college education), as a mentor and Spanish/english tutor. I was one of the Spanish teachers for the Upward Bound summer program and tutored st
In this diverse and changing society, it is imperative that students learn a different language; and in Texas, it is even more important that students learn Spanish. That being said, my goal for each student is that they would not just be able to pass their Spanish 2 vocabulary quiz or get a 4 on the Spanish AP Test, but that they would become bilingual and have a competitive edge in our diverse society.
I believe that to learn a language, one must be immersed (in some way) in that language. That is why I will use avenues such as songs, books, articles, movies, etc. to help students grasp the depth of the Spanish Language. This also makes something that is seen as difficult into something exciting and fun! When choosing me as your tutor, you will not only get better grades, but will gain a knowledge that is priceless!
