I started playing acoustic guitar when I was seven years old. I have been playing and teaching mostly bluegrass, old time, Irish, blues, and swing jazz styles for many years. I have taught both privately and have also done various workshops at festivals. I have taught guitar multiple years for instance at the Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival in PA.
My students learn to have fun with music. Students can work on rhythms, melodies, improvisation, song writing, getting into and/or hanging on in a jam session, etc.

With over 15 years of experience as a vocal instructor, and a lifetime of live performances and studio session work, I teach a straightforward vocal technique to maximize your range, flexibility and breath control. Whether it’s pop, rock, musical theatre or opera, we’ll focus on performance practices, pitch, health, and artistic expression. Based on your interests, we can carve out time during lessons for reading music and theory. In addition to vocal instruction, I offer private coaching in songwriting. I’ve written and published over 100 songs in styles including pop, choral, worship, and musical theatre. My larger works include a series of five musicals for arts camps, and a collection of 60 Scripture Songs (translated and used in over 30 countries).

I teach electric bass guitar for all levels and styles. I cover the basics, how to read bass sheet music and tab, music theory, scales. I can also help you learn your favorite songs!

Learn the techniques to reach your fullest potential in speed, dexterity, strength and musicality. My technique, derived from classical, jazz, fusion, rock, blues, metal and shred players, includes specific exercises to help develop proficiency in both hands for the best results.

Improvisation: Learn soloing, melodic phrasing, rhythmic analysis and how to apply various musical styles and articulations, along with scales for all types of chords and key structures, including major/minor, pentatonic, blues, modes, harmonic and melodic minor modes, as well as exotic and synthetic scales - all skills for lead guitarists.
