My name is Erika and I would love to teach you Spanish! I am the daughter of a German- American father and Panamanian mother. I am 100% bilingual in both English and Spanish. I grew up mostly in Latin America living in Costa Rica, Chile, Panama amongst visiting countries such as Peru, Dominican Republic, Argentina, Nicaragua, and Spain. If you want help on your Spanish homework, need someone to quiz you, converse with you etc. or need assistance in reading, writing and speaking the language I'm here to help! I make learning fun and more than anything I teach it in an applicable way so that you can use it as an every day language and not as just a way to pass a class. Born and raised in Germany, I graduated from college in 1995 with a degree in special ed and nursing. I came to Texas in 1997 and studied Biology at UTD. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a minor in health care, and I also obtained my teaching certification in composite science (teaching chemistry, biology and physics) and in German.
Currently I am teaching high school science classes (biology, physics, anatomy&physiology) , as well as German 1, 2, 3, and 4 (including pre-AP and AP German) at a local school.
I have been teaching , translating and interpreting German for several years.
I graduated with my Master's degree in science education in 2015, and I am writing curriculum since 2013. Currently I am enrolled for my PhD in biology.

Sciences can be hard to understand sometimes, and I am generally able to break down the concepts to make them easier to comprehend, often with the help of manipulatives and hands-on material, such as molecular kits, microscopes, lab experiments, or games.

As a piano teacher, I specialize for beginners. When you start playing, everybody realizes that your fingers don’t move as fast as you want to which is very normal. We are going to work on slowly in a fun way. I have taught from 3 years to 70 years old. Everyone can enjoy the piano anytime!!!
