I'm sorry, I cannot handle this Instructor for my children. She wasn't me but she's not quite the people person I expected. Her personality is not a good match for a high school tutor. Unfortunately her English is not good enough. Her accent is entirely too strong. Also she does not know enough Geometry to help my kids.

I have been playing the flute for years, 10 to be exact. I plan to start out slow, do little things an hour so you get them down. I do not want to rush or make anything too complicated and I plan on asking questions making sure you are doing ok. I like to make sure who I am tutoring is comfortable and understands. If you're having an issue with something I would either go over it multiple times for just a few more times and have that be homework.

About Tabitha

Hello! My name is Tabitha and I love the flute. I want to teach others the way of the instrument. I graduated in 2017 from high school and then in 2019 with my Associates of Arts. I have been playing the flute for 10 years now and I would love to share my knowledge and skills with someone who is wi

With me students listen and practice their way to being complete musicians. They improvise from the start, quickly gaining confidence that music is their domain and that they can be creative in music, more than expert readers and interpreters. They practice because they want to improve something they've heard in their playing; to help them hear, I guide them in recording and reviewing their own playing.

This creative and self-directed approach, combined with a strong foundation I give in classical technique, can open infinite doors. My students have composed their own music, learned jazz, and explored Irish flute music and the Cuban charanga. Other students have explored Country, Rock, and even Dubstep (not my thing, but I like keeping an open mind).

I encourage lots of exploration and listening, both curated and free, which I then encourage students to share. My studio explores the length and breadth of the world's music, both ancient and modern, for inspiration -- far beyond ...

About David

I've worked hard to be a flutist, and I continue to work hard every day to grow my technique, my hearing, and my musical imagination: what we call "chops" and "big ears"! My great hope is that I can help my students succeed at something they are passionate about within the musical domain. Persona

David helped my daughter leap from barely any knowledge or sound to sounding like she’d been training for years- in only a few sessions!
Our family was amazed at the immediate progress! David is patient and able to adjust concepts to the child’s level for easy absorption and application. I can say from first hand experience that school music lessons may be fine, but there is no comparison to the one-on-one attention of an expert flutist! Thank you David!

I have been teaching and performing professionally for over 30 years at all levels, from beginners to undergraduate music majors of flute at major universities. I am a retired professor of music and my students have won various competitions at all levels. We will focus on developing proper technique, building good practice habits, and long term improvement.

About Andy

My students have described our lessons as being fun, intense, humorous, and thought-provoking. Lessons are always tailored to the individual student, because the lessons are about the student making progress toward their goals, not about me. 3rd lesson done and couldn't be happier with our online teacher. Mr. Wen is informative and very professional. Recommend for anyone.
Alexa
Dr. Wen was the best professor and lesson instructor I have ever had. I took lessons with him for over seven years starting in high school and throughout my entire college. He shares his expertise in music theory, techniques, and instrument mechanics. He really helped me gain confidence in my playing abilities, showed me how I should be practicing in order to get the most of each rehearsal, and taught me so much about myself as a player. His ability to instruct on every aspect of playing the instrument is something I really admire. Need help rhythmically? He will help you understand time, measurement, and notes. Need help technically? He has all the ways to practice to get that much closer to perfection and how to maintain it. Need help with scales? He will help you to truly understand the scale in order for you to play it better. Not only will he help with the "how-tos," he will explain the why. Needing help with breathing techniques or articulations? He will take you through exercises that will enhance every aspect of your playing. He sets the standards high, and helps you reach your goals. I will always recommend Dr. Wen!
Valerie
Dr. Wen is an outstanding saxophone instructor, performer, and technician! I learned more from him in my first two 30 minute lessons than I had in 15 years of playing.
He will teach you how to make your practice time more productive, alternate fingerings to play more in tune, techniques to make note transitions easier, how to prepare new reeds for playing.... and on and on.
I had not played for a very long time. Dr Wen got me from there to where I was playing in a University Wind Ensemble, a quartet, and a community band. He also knew exactly where my saxophone needed to be adjusted to make it play better.
Dr Wen was my instructor for approximately 7 years. I learned a tremendous amount from him. You can’t do any better than Dr Andy Wen. He’s outstanding!

Music is so much more than organized notes written on a piece of paper. Music is a beautiful language and powerful phenomenon that should be felt, experienced, and shared daily. I want every student to believe and feel that playing the flute is fun and worth sharing with others! I have been playing the flute for 16 years, have nearly a decade of performance experience, and have experience in private flute instruction. I specialize in teaching beginner flute students, and as your teacher, it is my primary goal to not only help you learn how to produce a lovely sound on your instrument and read music but to encourage a deeper love and appreciation for the music itself that goes beyond the classroom. As you learn to breathe life into your flute and play songs, you will also be building a solid foundation in note reading, music theory, sight-reading, proper technique, and more! All ages are welcome, and lessons will be customized and catered to meet your individual needs and goals. ...

Katie is one of the most patient and willing individuals I know when it comes to teaching others no matter the subject. She has taught how to read music with uncanny ease. She is teaching herself (and her mother) how to play the Ukulele by note reading. Her flute renderings are fun and soothing to listen to. She never stops working on her knowledge and understanding of music.

Katie Miller has a wonderful personality, she has a natural ability for teaching. I have dyslexia and trying to learn how to read music has been challenging for me. She has been able to break down music theory with the use of color and other examples that has helped me understand this concept. I’m enjoying learning how to read music.

"We have a kid that has major anxiety issues, quit piano after a couple of years of learning nothing, and didn't want to play a musical instrument for the rest of her life. She was forced to take an instrument in school, and ended up borrowing my (older than I'd like to admit) flute. We searched for a teacher that "got" anxiety kids, and found Isaiah. In less than a year, my daughter is better on flute than I was after taking years of lessons. She adores Isaiah, and was so good after only playing for couple of months last year that she ended up playing a duet for the whole school at the winter concert. This was from the kid who wanted to change schools rather than take mandatory band class. He's an amazing teacher."
