Rhythm guitar, picking patterns and reading notes on the guitar are all taught.

About Kathryn

Kathy believes that variety is the spice of not only life, but also music. Raised singing folk music with a musical family (think accordions, guitars and lots of vocal harmonies), she learned guitar and piano at an early age, but began singing even earlier. Her quest to give the world the best

Amazing!!! A bright, joyful light!

My experience with Kathy has been great. It's been roughly five months and I learned a lot and I'm also much more confident to sing. Learning the right techniques is crucial. Kathy is extremely patient and she adapts the classes to the student goals and aspirations. English is not my first language and she was also always very respectful and patient in explaining everything twice or maybe three times until I get it.
Kathleen
Kathryn has a terrific demeanor, and provides clear, thoughtful suggestions for technique!

"5 stars...Yes...Best instructor ever!!!! I came to Franny as kind of an old dog folk performer. I had some vocal training 25 years ago. In the two months I've been seeing her its been really great. Her knowledge of anatomy and the physics of singing is quite remarkable. What I'm being asked to do makes sense to me on a scientific level. I've seen her working with kids and am touched by the level of compassion, connection and care she puts forth. For anybody reading this...don't think twice!!!"

"Started my saxophone journey with Bill with a zero experience in music, except for few songs on the guitar. Then the pandemic (corona) hit and we were forced to move to online sessions. I must say, the virtual teaching has not stopped Bill from delivering EXCEPTIONAL and THOROUGH sessions. I have seen significant improvements in my playing skills since we started, exceeding any of my expectations. Especially if you are concerned about online saxophone sessions, I have personally encountered no issues whatsoever and I actually look forward to our weekly zoom calls. Overall, Bill's expertise is matched by his kindness and patience and I am sure you will agree with me."

"José Carrion was my first private teacher as I began to seriously pursue bass in seventh grade. Not only did our work together allow me to reach top positions in Allstate and success in college auditions, but his giving nature and friendship allowed me musical and personal growth beyond what one could ever expect from weekly lessons. To this day, I perform in orchestras in Texas and in the solo field have even performed at Carnegie Hall thanks to starting my bass career with Mr. Carrion. I could not recommend someone higher to teach lessons on the double bass."

Would absolutely recommend."

What's the Hardest Piece to Play on Piano? And How to Advance Your Playing

The piano was invented over 300 years ago. Since then there have been some insanely difficult pieces written for the instrument, particularly from the 19th century onward. The most common choice for “most difficult piece” is probably the third etude from Grandes études de Paganini, S. 141,  “La campanella,” written by Franz Liszt in 1851. The dexterity and accuracy required to play it seems, to most observers, to be almost otherworldly. A YouTuber named Rousseau made a video that s …
