Meditation techniques include methods from Taoist sources as well as Buddhist sources. Many techniques are taught including meditation for martial arts, focus and concentration, and healing.

About Daniel
In addition to teaching music, I have also worked as a special education assistant and wrestling/track coach at Lake Zurich Middle School South and an assistant Kung Fu/Tai Chi instructor at Green Mountain Arts in Logan Square, Chicago, Illinois. Jazz piano, Voice, and Composition are my main areas of expertise. However, I have also been recording, and playing guitar almost my entire life. I fully believe in music education not only for entertainment and personal enjoyment, but for many other means.
Beyond its capacity for being used as entertainment, music aids in learning, helps develop advanced motor skills, increases memory function, and many other purposes for a well rounded education. It is my goal to help educate the next generation in traditional music practices as well as incorporate new techniques that are relevant to our
current day and age.

Lesson plans vary from person to person. I always make it a point to get to know the student's existing musical knowledge, goals, and background before I create a personalized lesson plan. All important concepts are covered as they are needed so students can understand theoretical concepts based upon actual application and usage. In short, I teach in a way that students can "dig in" right away and play, create, improvise, sing and/or compose freely and naturally. I always encourage students or parents to contact me with their goals, previous musical training, etc., and discuss what they really want out of lessons so they can get the most out of taking me on as an instructor.

Daniel adapted throughout the course of the hour-long lesson to understand what I already knew and find appropriate ways to fill in the gaps of my knowledge. He also started me on the process of learning a new approach when looking at and learning to play new music pieces.

I teach meditation and mindfulness for both Buddhists and those looking to reduce stress in their lives. Meditation takes many forms, and it is important to practice the form that is right for the individual student.

About Morris

I am a dharma holder (Zen master) in Rinzai Zen, a certified Path to Freedom facilitator, and have authored two books on Buddhism and meditation: "Wisdom, Compassion, Serenity: First Steps on the Buddhist Path," and "Loving Heart, Peaceful Mind," a workbook for developing the four Brahma-Viharas using traditional meditation techniques along with self-exploration methods adapted from Rational-Emotive Behavior Therapy and Japanese psychotherapy. I have led meetings of a Central Florida Buddhist community for 10 years, and speak regularly at Buddhist meetings, Unitarian Churches and other venues.

I practice meditation through practicing my instrument. This is for the musician who wants to learn how to breathe while playing.

About Aaron
I was an engineering tutor at University of Texas at Austin from 2006-2009. I graduated from UT with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 2009. I am very familiar with the UT engineering courses (from the beginning to the end).

While I was at UT, I also studied jazz drumming with Brannen Temple. I have been playing professionally for over ten years with lots of different bands. Teaching and playing music are the most gratifying things for me. But I also like to teach math!

I have been teaching high school math, physics, and music theory at Premier High School of North Austin for five years (2009-2014). I am a certified teacher by the state of Texas.

Steve contacted me before my first lesson to discuss what I expected from the session. I had only scheduled one lesson and wanted to try it out for myself and because I am enrolled in a graduate study program; I needed to try an alternative healing session so I could complete an assignment. I loved that Steve explained the movements and how they affected the internal body, mind, and spirit. He is a wealth of information and I plan on continuing to learn from him.

I haven't even taken the lesson yet, but am struck by his professionalism in reaching out to me by phone to discuss my knowledge and expectations of Qigong. You know the feeling you get when you talk to someone about a subject and you have an inclination about their depth of knowledge of it? No doubt, Steve knows exactly what he is talking about and with his extensive experience and personality, is a teacher that really wants to explain things in a way you really comprehend.

Imagine your favorite yoga video, class or picture. What does it feel like when you are in the middle of a practice or learning something new and you hit a snag? You have a question, but there is no one around to ask. What do you do?

Perhaps, instead, you have a chronic illness or long term injury. Maybe your joints ache, you suffer from low energy or are struggling with anxiety or depression. You’ve heard over and over again how helpful yoga could be for your condition. Your doctor may have even mentioned that it is something you should try, but they couldn’t point you in the right direction.

Still you may be new to yoga. Just the idea of learning the postures, sitting still to breathe or exploring meditation--especially in a group of strangers (gasp!) bring you untold amounts of anxiety.

No matter your physical condition, maybe you feel cut off from that special part of yourself; the part that feels alive and connected to the Source of all that is good and beautiful. It is the ...

About John
Hi yogis! Very excited to help you with your journey into the path of yoga.

Yoga has been such a life-changing practice for me, I was able to leave a highly stressful job and lifestyle in New York City behind to pursue my greatest passion of self betterment and helping others.

I’ve been able to learn from some amazing teachers in that time and have worked with a wide range of classes and students from folks brand new to the practice and physical activity to seasoned yogis, pro athletes, celebrities, people with illnesses and injuries, children and the elderly.

I’ve found that everyone has a hidden strength inside, a potential for happiness and their best self and my goal has been and will be to help bring it out you. I’m so grateful to wake up in the morning and do what I love every single day. Yoga is not a part time job or a s
ide gig for me, it’s my greatest passion and lifestyle.

I’m constantly trying to find the newest and best ways to challenge my students while making physical and mental changes accessible and above all fun! I demand my students work hard because true change is never easy, but it is so gratifying! Above all I also require that it brings a smile to their face!

I look forward to hearing your story and knowing how I can help. Let’s get on the path to your best self together!

John is always educating himself in order to keep providing new insight his yogis to incorporate into their routine. Always was able to pick up new things with him over the course of a few years. I have found with other instructors there is always new learning the first few sessions but slows down soon after.
