With over 10 years of teaching experience, and sharing the stage with the likes of Bob Mintzer and Gilbert Castellanos, trumpet playing is my biggest passion. Our lessons will be focused, yet relaxed; challenging but always fun and full of exciting challenges. My playing and teaching experiences have helped me understand what it takes to reach that "next level" of trumpet playing, whether it involves range, technique, or musical performance. I hope we can make some great music together soon!

About Carlos
Hello! My name is Carlos and I can't wait to have you as a student! I've been teaching trumpet for over 10 years and have loved helping my students discover the joy of playing an instrument, and making beautiful music! I studied music at San Diego State University and the New England Conservatory of Music where I earned a degree in Music Performance and was an Academic Fellow. I'm an encouraging, patient, and lively teacher. We will be learning the basics of trumpet playing, and progressing each week with tailored lesson plans, all the while making beautiful music in the process. I look forward to helping you reach your goals!

I equally cover fundamentals, technique, tone production, classical, jazz and anything else the student might be interested in.

About Nathan
I have been teaching private lessons for close to 10 years and have been an active performer for even longer, playing in all different types of groups, from rock bands and jazz groups to orchestras and brass bands. I studied music at Frostburg State University (Bachelors) and the Peabody Conservatory (Masters). I can teach just about any age and skill level and cover anything you are interested in learning; whether its a certain style, genre, technique or song.

*** Lesson Details ***
My lessons are laid back, with a focus on perfecting the basics. Most students work out of a method book appropriate to their skill level. Aside from that we'll also spend time learning songs and pieces of the students choice. With the right amount of effort, you'll know your way around your instrument in no time at all

*** Travel Equipment ***
Will provide sheet music and exercises. My students should have a working instrument as well as any method book or sheet music we are working on.

Trumpet is a wonderful instrument for both the young and young-at-heart. I have been playing trumpet for most of my life, and teaching it for 14 years.

About Tammye
I am a 2008 graduate of the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree. While at North Texas I taught trumpet lessons in the Denton area. I have also taught piano, clarinet, and saxophone as well as all the other brass instruments. I have performed with the UNT Concert Band, the UNT Brass Band, the UNT Nine O'Clock Lab Band, the Collin County Jazz Band, and the San Jose Metropolitan Band.

Currently, I teach clarinet, saxophone, trumpet and piano in the DFW area. I also play trumpet in the both the Frisco Community Band and the Frisco Community Brass Ensemble.

*** Lesson Details ***
I am a laid back teacher who gets you playing from the first day.

*** Studio Equipment ***
All students are required to purchase the Musician's Practice Planner, which you can find at any music store. You will also need to g
et any books that we play through (but I'll give you time to get them, so don't worry.) Any books that we use will be easy to find and won't cost a whole lot of money.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I will always bring my instrument with me when I attend a lesson, so I expect my students to do the same when they come to my studio. Also, make sure you have any books and music that we will be playing out of. I always have a copy of anything that we are playing, so I expect the student to have a copy as well.

This "teacher" doesn't know anything about music, let alone playing the trumpet, or any instrument. Complete HACK with zero skills who shouldn't even be charging $15 an hour!!! Also, she was extremely rude in all correspondence with me. I'm beyond thankful that I didn't have to smell her likely putrid, unwashed, unkempt stench through the webcam or in person. Stay FAR away.

Trumpet - I teach beginning through lower advanced trumpet. Playing the trumpet can be a lot of fun but requires some work and patience for those just starting out. For those just beginning it will be possible to play all 12 major scales within a year along with several fun pieces and songs with consistent practice. If the student has previous experience then I will find out where the student is on their journey and help guide them to the next level. It is important when playing trumpet to have good technique in breathing along with a solid musical foundation. I try to focus on various breathing techniques along with teaching the basic fundamentals of the instrument and music in general. I generally recommend that students wait to begin playing until around the ages of 10 - 12 as to prevent injury as the child is developing. For adults wishing to learn to play, all you need is an instrument and great attitude! I focus mostly on classical music but also teach basic jazz and pop music ...

About Brandon
Brandon has been surrounded by music since a young age, having both parents as musicians. Brandon began his musical carrier playing the trumpet eventually branching out to piano, a little violin, composing, and conducting. He attended the University of Central Florida where he received a BA and MA in composition and conducting respectively.

While in Orlando, Brandon worked as a part of the A Gift for Music program teaching beginning violin to inner-city elementary school children. He was also the conductor of the A Gift for Music Core Orchestra, a group of very talented young string students. Brandon was also the Brass Instructor for a local Jr./Sr. High School where he taught trumpet lessons, coached brass ensembles, and accompanied students on the piano. On top of this Brandon also had a small studio in the area.

Currently Bran
don is a graduate student at the University of Texas in Austin where he is studying composition.

*** Lesson Details ***
As a teacher I find the most important thing is to make sure the student has fun making music. I realize that everyone is different and I try to cater to the needs of the individual while still making sure that there is advancement in technique and musicianship. It is also a goal of mine to make sure that every students learns to practice without having someone ask them to do it.

I believe it is important to have a strong foundation when playing music. If that foundation is there it is easier to have fun making music and far less likely for a student to fail. For beginners I generally start with basic technique and gradually shift into playing pieces. If a student has been playing for a while, I will find out where they are in their musical journey and take it from there. I also try to focus on developing musicianship and individuality. I can not stress how important it is to not only have fun but to practice. It takes a great deal of dedication and effort to become a good musician.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can provide some music and small things like the occasional rosin or valve oil. I can also help students find rental venues for instruments. I would expect the students to have their own instrument/s and material to properly take care of the instrument. I would also expect them to keep the music we are currently working on with them.

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in classical music though I can teach popular music and basic improvisation. I try to focus on expression and technique with students.

Brandon is diligent and requests the best performance from the kids without being pushy or overbearing. His knowledge of trumpet and piano are exceptional and his demonstrations are impressive. He is always punctual and super nice. I would recommend Brandon as music teacher for any student.

Brandon is by far the best piano teacher I've ever had in my 7-ish years of instruction. He truly cares about your advancement as a student, and goes above and beyond to ensure that you are learning AND having fun. Just within my first lesson with Brandon, he helped me to identify quite a few bad playing habits I had no idea I had developed over the years. He's astoundingly observant and perceptive, and is helping me to improve my posture, my reading skills, etc. Habbits are difficult to break, and I really appreciate his patience and constructive criticism, and that he challenges me to take difficult yet important steps to improve. In the past, I would learn one piece each week with an instructor, then move on without taking the time to perfect it. Brandon will take the time to show you how to TRULY master a piece, even if it takes 5 lessons. I cannot convey how valuable such an experience has been to my own progression. He's also very fun to talk to and makes you feel comfortable and at ease. BEST PIANO TEACHER EVER - HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR ALL AGES

Jonathan is an excellent instructor. My lessons were scheduled in the evenings and he accommodated my busy work schedule. He presented the lessons clearly; he adapted my lesson to my learning style and never forced me into just 1 style of learning. He also gave me a lesson manual and discussed alternative ways of practicing at home. Joanathan is extremely knowledgeable, I would recommend him to anyone looking to learn violin.

I have been teaching brass for nearly 6 years. My students have gone on to pursue music degrees in college and have performed around the country. I focus on fundamental technique while tapping into the student's passion for music and performance. I rely heavily on communication with each student: finding out what their goals are and encouraging them to have an opinion on their playing and their improvement process. I love to encourage growth both as a musician and as someone enriched by music!

About Kenneth
I am a 24 year old Kmher-American musician based in the Los Angeles area. I gig regularly around LA and Orange County in my tamborazo Aguila y Serpiente, and have also performed and recorded professionally as an independent musician. I studied trumpet at CSU Fullerton where I played in just about every ensemble I could. Although my main study is of the trumpet, I’ve also picked up guitar, drums, piano, and singing over the years. As well, I’ve been lucky enough to teach/mentor all kinds of musicians/performers from the beginner to the college level. I spend most of my time performing classical music, but I am also versed in jazz, rock, rap, and other styles. I’m also very proud to have spent 4 years in the Santa Clara Vanguard where I was able to experience being the elite of performance and leadership.
Music isn’t just a passion of mine
, it’s practically my life, and I enjoy discussing it and learning more about it each and every day!

Whether you're just starting out, wanting to learn a little bit more, or want to reach for the Double High C and beyond, I will help get you there!

About Joshua
Thank you for considering me as your new trumpet instructor! I began playing professionally at age 16, and have continued to do so since. I hold a Bachelor of Music from Winthrop University where I was the Bruce Thompson Concerto Competition winner my senior year. I also earned a Master of Music in Jazz Performance from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign on a full tuition waiver.

The most notable aspects of my professional career were performing as the lead trumpet for Royal Caribbean Cruises, and as a trumpet player in the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus. I visited over a dozen countries with Royal Caribbean and toured from coast to coast with the Ringling Brothers.

I've taught privately throughout my career, and had a successful private studio during my master's degree in Illinois. I'm still in touch with a few
students and parents, and am happy to see the students enjoying their success on the trumpet.

I'm planning on earning a Doctorate of Music from UT Austin beginning Fall 2018, so I will be in the Austin area for a significant amount of time.
