Mrs. Jen has been a violin teacher for our daughter for 3.5 years. She is an extremely qualified and talented musician who deeply cares about her students and is committed to teaching. She is kind and patient, but also effective and motivating. When our 8 year old daughter learned Mrs. Jen was moving she said, "I probably will never have as neat or special of a violin teacher as Mrs. Jen"- and she's right!

First lesson was fine. We took a few minutes to find each other in a cafe setting but as it was also a meet and greet session I wasn't too concerned about time. As it turns out Beth more than made up the time. She's very pleasant and easy to speak with. We went over my goals, simple traveler type words, phrases and questions, and a work schedule to cover the next several weeks. Beth told me how she was going to approach teaching me after listening to my goals. I'm looking forward to the next session where we can focus on learning the language.

Angie H.

Davis, CA

About Angie

Hello, I'm Angie. I graduated from UC Irvine with honors in 2015 with a degree in Psychology and Social Behavior and a degree in Public Health Policy. I am a tutor in math, writing, and psychology and love working with students of all ages. Throughout my time tutoring, I've learned that the best way to help students learn is to first take the time to understand the current level they are at, their current struggles, and where they aim to go. I believe that building students' confidence in their abilities through relevant practice is key to mastering specific topics. In my approach, I am fr
iendly and understanding, while remaining focused on delivering the necessary information and techniques the student needs to succeed.

I have also been meditating for a few years. I am interesting in teaching meditation and various techniques to calm the mind. I am very interested in emotional and physical wellness and love bringing positive energy into people's mindsets and lives.

Martin G.

Sacramento, CA

About Martin

My name is Martín Garay MacLean, and I graduated from Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY with a Bachelor's of Science in Physics. I participated in numerous Physics related research throughout my undergraduate career. This research was mainly focused in Astrophysics, like with NASA's SOFIA Telescope. While being an undergraduate student I often tutored my peers in the areas of Math and Physics.

I currently work as a Physicist/Project Manager in the Semiconductor/Aerospace field in the Sacramento area. Knowledge wise I am highly qualified in the Math and Physics areas, and I am very proficient at
explaining highly complex and technical material in terms that someone at any level will be able to understand.

I am very excited at the opportunity to be able to help students in overcoming the hurdles normally encountered in understanding Math and Physics. I am of the belief that learning becomes fun, once we really understand what we are being told to memorize.
