Daniel F.

Woodland Hills, CA

About Daniel

818-577-7000

I'm a graduate of UCLA School of Engineering with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering. I have a passion for explaining how the physical world works through math and physics along with 9 years of tutoring experience in those subjects, test prep, and mentorship programs. The teaching strategy I believe in emphasizes subject fundamentals, a powerful and necessary tool for higher problem solving. This strategy has proven very effective regardless of the student's educational background or mental ability. Besides being knowledgeable, I am motivating, caring, and patient in guiding your
student to academic success!

Executive Functioning is a separate realm that tutoring can assist in. It deals with cognitive processes including organization, time management, and study skills. Much of the difficulty students face in academic subjects can be attributed to the lack of executive functioning. They either cannot keep up with the pace and workload that advanced courses demand or haven't figured out the best way to study for themselves. I am able to assess students' shortcomings and formulate a plan for higher achievement.

• Math:

I was honestly speechless during my first lesson! Daniel G is the person I have been looking for in a long time. Daniel G is a great teacher! He has such a powerful and controlled voice and what a great personable guy! I just recorded a song tonight and I can already hear and feel a difference. After my voice changed, I kept getting frustrated trying to find the right teacher. I actually think I learned and improved more from my first lesson with Daniel than weeks with others. I'm almost hesitant to write this review in fear Daniel will have less time with me. 8-)

Laurel accompanied me in a fiendishly difficult piece with less than a week to prepare. She was terrific, both as an accompanist and coach.

Ian S.

Malibu, CA

About Ian

I graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a master of science in Physics and have 2 years of experience with physics and math tutoring through the company half-price tutors, located in SLO/SB. As my work has pushed me closer to the LA area I now am tutoring independently. I am qualified to teach all levels of high school through undergraduate physics, general through quantum. I am also qualified to tutor all levels of algebra and calculus, the toolkit that enables one to study physics.

Throughout my undergraduate studies we had a core group of five friends who all more or less tutored each oth
er and helped each other through our courses and all of us succeeded in graduating on time with our physics degrees. I love physics, the study of how the world works. No matter if you are struggling or just want extra help I will enjoy working with you to help you understand physics and mathematics.

I also play piano with a jazz fusion group, 'the hypno rings.' I would love to help you learn to play this amazing instrument.
