Sebastian P.

Ocala, FL

About Sebastian

I am from Colombia where I used to be both, an English and Spanish Teacher. I did it for over 15 years and thanks God I did a great job in all institutions I worked for. My accent is from Bogotá, Colo
mbia, and I have a very learned spanish level. Many people say that in Colombia, specially in Bogotá, you will find one of the best places to learn this language as our accent is neutral. I have developed a skilled and easy technique to teach this beautiful language. On the other hand I am an artist. If you are interested in learning and getting a high and fluent spanish level, with someone who feels passion for teaching, I am the one you need.

John was great with our 9-year old, who started chess at five, and has played on and off since. He picked up pretty quickly and started learning new moves and approached. John is very good with kids, explaining not only the rules of the game, but rationale for every play. We're very happy with the classes.

Looks like he is not familiar to teach chess for 6 years old kids . I do not recommend.

It was my son's (10 years old) first time when we took a chess online with John Michael. My son learnt so much with him from their first lesson and started to share with me what he learnt right after he finished the class. (normally this is not how my kid behaves). That is not it.
My son all of the sudden wanted to learn everything in other subjects like math and had this desire to become an intelligent person. We spent the entire day indoors studying different things because he was so inspired after his chess class to grow intellectually.
First impression/experience with the subject is very crucial and I am so happy John Michael could find a way to get my kid into chess while doing it online. My son really enjoyed learning about chess and wants to continue taking classes with John Michael during the academic year as well.
John Michael is certainly very knowledgeable, processional, and has a talent to teach.

안녕하세요! Love kPOP or kDrama?! Learn the language and no more subtitles!
Using TakeLessons or any kind of online-tutoring companies is new to me - but I am extremely confident to say that my teaching e
xperiences will be able to provide great learning experience based on customized materials prepared by myself.
I'm currently a Graduate Teaching Assistant pursuing MS in Economics at FAU. I am originally from Seoul, South Korea and I've been in the states for the past ten year since I started studying here as an exchange student.
I am very outgoing and personable - don't worry if you are a shy person! I am always happy to listen to students' needs and wants.
I am very passionate about teaching and helping others - as one once said "To Teach in To Change One's Live Forever", every lesson for every student means a lot to me. Thus I hold great responsibility and honor to do my job.

As an educator I have high expectations. I have tried two other tutors in the hopes of finding a tutor that would fit me. While the other tutors were very polite and comfortable to work with, Jeehoon exceeded my expectations. Jeehoon was prompt, organized, knowledgeable, and very comfortable to work with. He also has a great personality and sense of humor which helps to relax the student fostering a learning environment. I learned the most with him in one lesson than the other two lessons from my other tutors combined. If you truly want to learn Korean Language in a thorough manner, this is the tutor to work with. I am excited and look forward to my future sessions with Jeehoon.

Jee has a great personality and is a great teacher. In addition to teaching the language he helps the student understand about Korean culture which helps the student understand when formal or informal language is used. I am just a beginner.

Megan N.

Gainesville, FL

About Megan

I am a third-year astronomy and physics undergraduate student at the University of Florida with over two full years of freelance and hired tutoring experience and previous years of volunteer tutor exp
erience. I was employed with the University Athletic Association as a physics tutor to student-athletes for a year. I also worked as a university-employed tutor to provide teaching assistance to college algebra courses. In high school I participated in the IB Program and took AP classes as well, so I know how the work load can get for today's students, but I also know how to help! My students always show marked improvement in grades after only a couple weeks with my help! I go out of my way to learn a student's strengths - I have no problem making a fool out of myself by singing a song if that's what helps the learning process. Feel free to ask me more about my experience or philosophy!

Megan started tutoring me in astronomy when she gave me some information informally but it was so fun it's a regular thing now. I might take astronomy classes now and having her as a teacher is awesome!

Megan was a really great teacher. When it came to difficult math questions, she would walk me through all of the steps and explain them in detail. She was very understanding and flexible. She helped me pass college algebra!
Thanks Megan!
