"I had been nervous about an upcoming presentation I had for work. I began working with Kristi practicing my presentation. She has definitely helped me imp
rove my confidence in the information I will be sharing with my company. My presentation went well, and my department supervisor loved it. I was chosen to represent the department and present during the regional company meeting. I am ready and excited for the opportunity."

"Megan has helped me get through various classes. From algebra 2 and pre-calculus in high school, to calculus 1 through 3, as well as physics 1 and 2 at th
e collegiate level. She has always taken my learning preferences into consideration and was patient with me while I figured out concepts and problems. I really appreciate her help and kindness. Between her highly scientific mindset and friendly, approachable demeanor, I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a boost, especially in the fields of math and science!"

"As a non-traditional student I was struggling with Gen Chem 2 early in the semester because I didn't have the fresh skillset my peers possessed from only
being out of high school chemistry for a year or less. Dr. Alan helped simplify complex concepts which brought me up to speed and made sense of the fray, allowing me to go from a 70 at the the beginning of the semester to a high A by the end of the semester."

"My daughter does not like to be challenged in math but I have never seen her as excited as she was after today's lesson. Explaining to me what she learned
and eager to work on her homework. Great start and looking forward to more lessons ."
I discovered music sifting through my Dad's record collection and soon decided that I wanted to play guitar. As a teenager I began taking lessons and building confidence in my abilities. I played in different types of bands ranging from rock, country, blues, and jazz. After completing College in 2004, I realized music was not just going to be a hobby, but a career. At age 35, I have been teaching and playing guitar professionally for the last 11 years. I believe that anybody can learn to play as long as they are patient and understand that anything worthwhile takes time and sustained effor
t to achieve. You also need a good teacher who understands how to take you where you want to go musically. I have taught hundreds of different students of all ages and abilities. I have seen many of them grow musically and gain confidence in other areas of their lives as a result. I aim to inspire every student to find their way to a rewarding life through music.
*** Lesson Details *** My lesson plans are developed on an individual basis. I want you to learn the music that inspires your passion. If the guitar is new to you, the first lessons are devoted to basic playing skills and techniques. It is important to develop a strong understanding of music fundamentals to ensure that the student is attaining the skills they need to be a complete musician. I emphasize technique with drills designed to raise my students' skills evenly across a wide range of categories, like picking, fretting, scale patterns, chord shapes, rhythm training, and ear training. I have had success with many students using this approach and most are playing songs within a couple months. For the more serious student, music theory is an important tool to understand songwriting and music in general. I am always open to discuss what we do during a lesson. I believe it is my job to balance what you want to do with what you need to do in order to succeed.
*** Travel Equipment *** I have amps, guitars, 1/4 inch cables, tuners, metronomes, paper and pens. Would like students to have all these things but can accommodate based on need.
*** Specialties *** Rock, Pop, Blues, Country, flat-picking, finger-style

I must say that Benjamin was great. I come from no musical background and had zero knowledge. Benjamin made me feel relaxed and broke down the sessions in an easy way so that I could understand the concept of what we were trying to accomplish. I look forward to future lessons and learning how to play the guitar

Ben is an amazing guitar teacher who is patient and always willing to work with a busy schedule. As a senior in high school, many things pop up and we are always able to work around it. His lessons are based around what the students want to learn and he always finds a way to accomplish it. He has a great deal of knowledge in music theory and has helped me many times stay ahead in my music theory class in school and more importantly how to tie it in musically. As a performing musician as well, he has experience and other bits of wisdom about music and beyond that he can/will share and has which I feel is important as well.

Excellent Experience-Very Happy
Ben is a great teacher! I am very happy with Ben and with Take Lessons. Ben is knowledgeable, patient, and kind. He knows how to challenge me and bring my skills to the next level without making the lessons too difficult. I would highly recommend Ben as a teacher!
Acting – I have taught all kinds of acting, including Audition Skills, Shakespeare, Stage, Film & TV, Dramatic, Comedic, whatever. I also have quite a bit of experience performing in all those arenas. Also, I have a relationship with one of the best management agencies in the area. She takes my referrals very seriously because she knows I know what I'm doing.
Voice – Anyone can sing. If you want to and have always thought you couldn't, you will be delighted when I prove you wrong. If you're a serious singer, no matter what style of singing you do, you should train classically. It's just th
e best way to train the delicate muscles used in singing.
I am an excellent coach, at any level. I will teach you how to OWN the song. That's what keeps people coming back. However, as an instructor, I am better with beginners.
Speaking – Ever lost your voice because you were talking too much? Every professional speaker I know of has. YOU DON'T HAVE TO. It's simply a matter of knowing the correct way to produce the sound. That's easy for me to teach.
Writing – I have been a professional writer and editor for over eight years; I have books, articles, posts, newsletters, etc. published. The point of grammar is to facilitate communication, NOT to be right. I can teach you practical grammar, not just correct grammar. I can show you how to make your words flow and be easily read. If there are typos in here, please understand you should never proofread your own work.
Nutrition/Alternative Medicine – I have been in this field for over 25 years. I am certified as a Sports Massage Therapist and most of my experience is in that area, but over the years, I have garnered quite a bit of usable knowledge.
Meditation – There is no one right way to meditate. You don't even have to be still to meditate, although it's a good place to start. We'll find a way(s) that's right for you.

I am a freelance tutor and translator. I have been tutoring for more than 8 years. I am very friendly, patient and professional. I tutor college students and children. I got my Associate in Arts and Sciences - Psychology from Union County College in NJ. On my sessions I apply constructivist teaching techniques which have proven excellent results. I am an avid observer of details which helps me determine the student's strengths. My classes are fun as playing a game! I am also a Therapeutic Mentor in Catholic Charities. In order to be accepted I had to get a full background check because I deal
with very special and unique children.
