Singing is an extension of speech. Good breath support is needed. Vowels and consonants are two best friends for the singer. Even though I am classically trained as a singer, I have explored successfully other vocal genres like popular and jazz. Though a singer, I am first a music educator. Most times, I learn along with my students and I enjoy what I do. Rudiments of singing are taught right away and reinforced with each lesson. Beside vocal technique, the student is exposed to various genres of music as well as singing music the student wants to sing. Technology is used for recording, listening, and performance.

I have been teaching voice for several years and I encourage each student to find their unique voice and to nurture their own sound and artistry. In each lesson students will learn techniques to communicate in a healthy and exciting way! Students begin working on new songs immediately in my studio and work to perform as much as they can!

Having studied classical voice and musical theater, Jane utilizes a variety of musical genres along with imagery, pedagogical facts, and kinesthetic movements to affirm and achieve each student's vocal ambitions. Most importantly, Jane's studio provides a fun and safe environment where students receive access to the musical skills and knowledge necessary to function in any vocal situation of their choosing.
Students can expect to learn a healthy technique; one which will instill a strong foundation for vocal production in classical, musical theatre and contemporary singing. Our work together will focus on breath management, support, articulation, phonation,resonance and registration through warm-ups (body, breath and vocal),vocalises and repertoire. As a teacher, it is my goal to provide you a safe and inviting place to find your own sound. Lessons are customized to meet your specific needs as a singer.
