With 25 years experience as a concert soloist on stages around the globe, it is so important to learn from a professional. Having studied for years with soloist Erick Friedman and pedagogue Sally Thomas, lessons comprise a teaching philosophy based on the principles of Jascha Heifetz and Ivan Galamian. With any student, learning the proper solid fundamentals that will hold up onstage for auditions right through to performing chamber music and as soloist with orchestras is so important and it is also about developing an enjoyable environment to the student to grow.

Lessons (in studio or online) are tailored depending on the needs of each student’s individuality as there is something so wonderful in enabling a student to find their musical voice and allow them to have fun and experience the challenge of musical growth.

About Greg

Hi, I am international soloist and pedagogue, I have been soloist with orchestras such as the San Diego Symphony, Rhode Island Philharmonic, Mexico City Philharmonic, RTE Concert Orchestra and The Janacek Filharmonic and I have presented masterclasses in Conservatories and Universities around the w

Greg is amazing! I knew that as a parent with a musical background it would be tough to find a teacher for my son that actually ticked all the boxes - but Greg certainly does! His method of teaching is caring, open, and friendly. Even more importantly - his lessons actually keep my son interested in the music and playing his instrument! Greg is also very focused on technique which is hugely important to me. Highly recommend!

I have been playing the violin for over 15 years. I like to teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced students regardless of their age. I currently attend Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio for Music Education. My goals for teaching is to help all of the children I work with to become more noble human beings through their positive experiences with music! My priorities for teaching are balanced posture, balanced tone, perfect intonation and great skills for developing artistic musicianship in performance. Currently accepting students of all ages and levels.

About Claire

My passion is music and my greatest joy is sharing that passion. My teaching style is adapted to each student, customized lesson plans and curriculum designed to teach and challenge but also ensure the student is enjoying the experience by basing lessons on music in which the student is interested

During the first session, I ask the student for their goal. I can then work in a direction that will help them achieve that goal. For example, if a student wants to be a classical player, I will introduce them using simple books and lead to Suzuki. If I have a student that wants to play bluegrass or fiddle, I have books to teach that method as well. One unique thing that I do in every session and spend the first 5 minutes giving a mini theory session because I believe it helps students to understand the concept of why they are playing certain ways and why notes fall in the place that they do.

About Melissa

I love watching people learn new things, and teaching violin brightens my heart. I am open and willing to teach any style in any level of violin. I have 20 years of Symphony experience and nine years of fiddle experience. People often ask what the differences between a violin and fiddle - nothing.

Even though most of my students are children between the age of 6 and 18, I love teaching adults because we can build up meaningful relationships and have intriguing conversations through music! I am fully equipped to teach from absolute beginners to semi-professionals who had chosen a non-music career path. Let's work together to achieve your goal, and make beautiful music.

Hi, I'm Soyeong! I began training as a violinist from age 6. I have experience performing and competing around the country and across the world. That said, I've come to the conclusion that I much prefer to engage with music as a craft or art than a form of competition or production. I will bring all of my experience and perspective to our lessons. This means that whether you want intensive skill drills, basic technique starters, or insightful input on musicality, I'm happy to meet you wherever you are to make sure you feel well supported in your journey with the violin. We'll start by discussing what learning styles would feel most fitting for you, so that we can work together in a way that is as effective and enjoyable for the both of us as possible!

About Soyeong

Hi, my name is Soyeong. I have extensive experience as a violinist, and I’ve competed across the US and performed across the world. I’m currently taking a hiatus from competing and performing, and am pouring my musical energy into teaching! Some things I am able to teach: ⁃basic technique: posture

Violin Tips: Stiff Shoulders and Arm Pain

Playing the violin should be fun - not a pain! Some arm fatigue is normal when you're first starting out, but anything more than that may be a sign of poor posture, technique or instrument placement. Here are a few things to keep in mind as you practice and play... 1. Relax. Many beginner players tense up their shoulders, arms or wrist without even realizing it, which can cause a lot of problems. Just relax! Focus on your breathing, but also don't lose your posture. 2. Check your techni …
