My goal is to have my students prepared for what ever level they wish to go with their music. Some want to play for enjoyment only and others wish to take piano/music in college.

About Nancy

I have been teaching for over 30 years. I love to teach students of all ages. My education is classical in nature and this is how I approach my lessons, but I also mix in current music that is of interest to each particular student. I have also been a church musician for over 40 years. I studie

It's been awhile since I wrote a review and I was compelled to leave one today. I had a really bad allergy attack and could barely talk let along sing...I thought. Despite my current voice condition I stuck with my appointment. Much to my amazement Missy and her incredible knowledge as a voice instructor, navigated me through just the right warm ups. To my astonishment, I was able to sing and carry a note. Who knew? She is wonderful to work with! I so appreciate you, Missy. Your seemingly endless knowledge enables me to not only be encouraged but to carry on with my journey of singing. No matter what shape my voice might be in.

Missy is very encouraging. She helped me smooth out the final riffs on 2 songs I am performing. I delight in how she took a rust bucket and worked with me to make a finely tuned instrument. Thank you Missy!

As it gets closer to my performance I am getting a bit nervous as it is my first time. Missy is very encouraging and is a great coach in smoothing out the rough places. Doing better than I thought I was. Yay! Thank you Missy

Mr. Jerry is the best piano teacher I have ever had. I would highly recommend him to anyone. He is well versed in music and has wealth of knowledge relating to the piano. I have been one of his students for 3+ years. He is wonderful and has a great sense of humor. Thank you Mr. Jerry for your dedication. If you are considering piano, then check out Mr. Jerry.

My daughter has been taking lessons with Jerry for over 5 years now and my son has been taking lessons for over 3 years. Every year around Christmas time we host a piano recital at our home where all the students get together and play for family and friends. Every student gets to shine and it is such a great time! If you are looking for more than just a piano teacher then you have just found the perfect guy :)
I think he has students that range from age 7 to 70!
We love Jerry, he is part of our family and my kids absolutely love having him as a teacher!

1000% Satisfied! Highly Recommend To Anyone!
Jerry is a very skilled pianist and phenomenal piano instructor! Don't let his reasonable rates fool you into thinking that the quality of his teaching is anything less than spectacular. He thoroughly enjoys teaching piano lessons and music theory in many genres to people of all ages, paces himself to assist in your level of understanding, and makes learning to play the piano fun.
My eight year old daughter got a keyboard for Christmas so I decided to get her piano lessons to accompany her new instrument. I began searching for a local piano teacher who was reasonably priced, yet, also experienced with teaching children, and I couldn't have found a better person to do so than Jerry S!
My child had been previously diagnosed with ADHD and ODD so she tends to be very distracted, rambunctious, inquisitive, and defiant at times, however, it's never seemed to phase Jerry at all. He was open minded and seemingly very understanding of her condition. He is very friendly, easy going individual who has always been extremely patient with my child, despite her occasional outbursts.
In conclusion, I honestly feel that we are truly fortunate (and blessed) to have found such an amazing piano instructor, for an affordable rate, who's patient and keeps the student engaged, while also making it a fun filled learning experience to play the piano!

Learning Music Theory is a lot like learning a language. I want to teach you not only to be able to look at scores and to be able to know how the relationships between the chords and notes work, but also to be able to use your ears to dissect pieces of music just by the use of your newly found aural skills.

About Carl

I am a bassoonist, saxophonist and private music instructor in the New York City and Hudson Valley regions. My most recent degree was from Yale University where I earned by Master of Music from the Yale School of Music as a Bassoon Fellow. Previously I earned by Bachelor of Music from the Oberlin C

He is a well trained musician with a lot of patience, which for our lessons went a long way. He is quick to help you find the right correction to technique, and will always cater to your personal needs. His lessons work well even online, as he is able to succinctly verbalize what and how something to be worked on. I highly recommend him as a teacher!

Carl Gardner is an A1 bassoonist. Over the past year and few months he’s improved everything about my playing, technically and musically, and helped me achieve goals I previously thought were impossible. His reeds are immaculate! 5/5 stars would recommend him to any bassoonist I meet.

Social distancing will not interfere with solo competition! Carl made certain that my daughter did not miss a lesson by proactively finding a way to have one online. Although she prefers to be taught in person, this has definitely allayed her fears of not having her solo polished and ready for competition!

Jan is a wonderful teacher and we recommend him highly to students of any age. My son really likes Jan's teaching method and appreciates that he is so musically current and kind -- high praise from a teenager! Jan is easygoing but is also innovative and thorough in his approach, and it's been a pleasure for the rest of us to get to know him too. I haven't always been successful in the past at getting my son to focus on lessons but Jan has a way of encouraging that progress along. As a result, my son has learned a lot in a short time and really enjoys the piano now.

To whom It may concern,

This is a letter of recommendation for Jan Jurchak as a teacher of piano instruction for young children. He is a man of high technical skill and ability, yet he can still make the basic movements fun and entertaining for kids of all ages. My 8 and 10 year old children took to his kind manner and positive teaching techniques immediately, he was their instructor for two years. Their aptitude for the instrument grew as their desire to perform better for their
teacher amplified with each session. They gladly did their practices on their own, in hopes of excelling and impressing their new mentor every lesson. They were
encouraged to think about the instrument in their own way; to bring in pieces of music that they liked and wanted to learn. In short time, both children began to
read and write music. Long after Jan has left our lives, the girls love of piano has continued to expand and develop; truly the gift that keeps giving. I could not more highly recommend this man as a music instructor for children. You would be lucky to have him!
Sri Utami
To Whom It May Concern:
This letter is to attest to the character and proficiency of our former keyboard instructor Jan Jurchak who instructed our twin, 12 year old girls for 2 years from the ages of 9 through 11. Our girls were able to progress from having no proficiency on the piano up to a middle intermediate level through the instruction of Jan whom we received once weekly 30-45 minute lessons Jan has demonstrated integrity in his work and dedication to teaching our young children and as a result has earned our trust and respect as an outstanding example
We have observed Jan work with others in his initial as an instructor for Spotlight Arts Center in Saugus, California and later as our private instructor. Throughout our working relationship Jan freely assisted us in providing useful feedback to enhance learning between lessons and build confidence in their ability to play the instrument. Jan demonstrated a consistently high level of professionalism and expertise in his craft. As such my wife and I are highly recommending Jan for the position of Music/Keyboard instructor that he is pursuing.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions, clarifications or concerns regarding this statement of recommendation.
Sincerely,
Vincent Kondo and Sri Utami

My name is Carlos.

I am a composer and have taught professionally for over 20 years. I taught at Berklee College of Music, New England Conservatory, Musicians Institute, the Cornel School of Music and the California College of Music.

I worked in New York, Boston and Los Angeles in many musical roles as a composer, producer and keyboardist.
With my composition students I work on Jazz and Traditional Harmony, arranging for Horns, Strings and Rhythm Section. Chord-Scale based creation of voicings and their application in contemporary orchestration, melodic development, chord progressions, song forms and how to create music drawing from the best contemporary resources. Midi-Mockups.

My classes are always fun, stress free but with a strong curriculum, organized and dynamic.
Onsite, I teach music at my studio in Los Angeles. My studio is located in the historical Village Green.
Online, I teach music via Skype or Zoom using different cameras to enhance the music lesson experience.

"I have been playing for 20 years, and I have written many songs. I could never understand how to put together the formula to write, I have always written by patterns and sound. Now thanks to Tim, and about 5 minutes he explained to me how to write a song within structure and how to compose it, with many different choices. I no longer live in a box and am excited that my eyes are opened. I highly recommend Tim, he is great at encouraging you even through songs that I have said. "After many years of contemplating learning an instrument and making excuses like a busy schedule, I finally made the commitment. I started the first few weeks with online videos and made a little progress. I found Jordan through this sight. I was hoping to find someone who would help guide me on a steady path to improvement and growth. Jordan has been a perfect fit for me. He's patient (I'm not). He is encouraging (I'm pretty hard on myself). I am slowly getting better and wanting to stick with it. I think it's because he's clear and methodical in his teaching and he keeps you enthused with music that you like. While I have a long way to go, I practice every day and look forward to my weekly lessons with Jordan. I'm learning the guitar for my self and over the past three month Jordan has helped me stay engaged and excited about playing the guitar. I highly recommend Jordan and will continue to learn from him."

Do You Have The Right Strings On Your Guitar?

Each year the CMT honors country music stars at their Artists of the Year celebration - 2011's honorees included Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean and Kenny Chesney.  Before they were stars, however, they had to work up their guitar skills from the very beginning. Of course, if you'd like to be the next musician in line for country stardom, you'll need to keep your guitar at your side.  Ideally, you should have already found the perfect guitar (or even better, maybe one of these.)
