As an educator, he has served on the faculties of the Cumberland Arts Institute, W.O. Smith School of Music, Murfreesboro City School System, School of the Arts at Austin Peay State University, Allegro School of Music and the East Nashville School of Music. He has taught hundreds of students in various formats ranging from one-on-one studio settings to entire youth symphony orchestras and choirs. He has been active as an adjudicator, participant, and member of various competitions and education-related conventions. He also maintains membership with various educational organizations such as the American String Teacher's Association, Music Educator's National Conference, and Early Music America.
In addition to working with and coaching Grammy award-winning and nominated artists, Mr. W's students have auditioned, been selected and have performed in the Tennessee Mid-State and All-State Choir (principal positions) and Orchestra Festivals (violin and cello, in addition to being members of the Curb Youth Orchestra and Philharmonia at the Blair School of Music.
His students have also performed in several professional and amateur performances across the Southeast. They have also gone on to major in music earning tens of thousands of dollars in scholarships from prestigious conservatories and colleges across the country. Many of his students have become professional musicians across many genres, educators themselves, or satisfied amateur hobbyists.

As a teacher many have described my style as nurturing-but-firm. When I see a student's potential, I make sure that student can attain it. I expect a willingness to learn, a desire to succeed, and a want for excellence. In return, I offer the tools to get the student there!
I know that not every student benefits best from only one method. As such, I employ a variety of teaching tools and methods to best suit each student. Strings students can expect to see a little bit of traditional training, a little bit of Suzuki and little bit of contemporary training. Voice students can see some Sieber vocalizes, some Vaccai, classical, jazz, and musical theater training built on an old-world teaching technique. It's all about giving the student the tools to do whatever he/she wants with his/her music of choice!
On your first lesson, I'll go over the materials needed, what you need to work on, and the very basics so you can immediately get to enjoying your new craft. In a few months, you'll be confident making new music or making better music. Within a year, you should be well prepared for one of my studio recitals!

I have a commercial music teaching studio used solely for the purposes of teaching. In the studio there is a piano, my music library, photo copier, computer, audio equipment, stereo, music stands, standing mirror, and various teaching tools. There is a waiting area for parents, siblings and other visitors.

Get ready to sing your heart out!! The field of Opera and Oratorio is not an easy one. It provides a myriad of physical and emotional challenges that will push you further than you thought possible.
But it's SOOO worth it!!
I have been singing on the operatic stage for just over 10 years now, and I couldn't live without it in my life. It provides the most powerful artistic and emotional outlet I've ever come across. I am excited to offer these lessons so that I can help others experience this challenging, but rewarding music.
We will start our lessons working on posture and breathing to develop a good foundation, then we will move on to correcting phonation problems so that we begin to work on extending your range and beautifying your tone, and then we will begin working on learning arias and songs.
If you are a more experienced singer we will start off with a diagnostic lesson to see where you are and then work from there.
Outside the university’s walls, I performed several roles and concerts with Opéra Louisiane including Samuel from Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance and Peter from Humperdink’s Hansel and Gretel. Most recently, I was an apprentice with Sarasota Opera for their Fall season and a Des Moines Metro Opera Apprentice Artist for the past two summers.

I'll be honest with you when my dad told me he signed me up for singing lessons I was shocked, annoyed, and flabbergasted. I'm one of those kids who can be picky sometimes. I play travel soccer baseball and basketball. The first practice I was nervous and afraid of what the instructor could be but when we showed up and we met him I knew he would be a great instructor. He was funny, smart, he cared about making me better and not just leaving me on my own he was amazing. I figured before I started lessons that I could stop after a couple of weeks. But after meeting Alex And his passion to make me better i find my self happy and excited for practice every time. With my schedule its so unpredictable but Alex handles it like a pro. I will text him and ask him if this time works even if we plan on a different time. U know what he says everytime??? I'll be there. He is great communication wise. If I have something I will text him, he will text right back and have a solution to the problem every time. He is a great instructor who cares and is nice cool funny and fantastic all around.

As an opera coach and accompanist I found that what makes a unique voice and singer is their tone and interpretation. Therefore my main focus is on tone, breathing technique, diction, interpretation and sight singing.
My lessons incorporate warmups, sight singing exercises and artistic practice on songs
In my early age I won many competitions and performed in solo recitals and with symphony orchestras, also as a chamber musician, therefore I understand what it takes to not just learn music but what it takes to be a great performer and interpreter of music.
My beginner students enjoy a fun way of learning to read notes and interpret even the simplest songs and pieces. I introduce my students to technique by teaching scales in many forms , exercises and etudes. I also teach them theory and give them written homework to practice their knowledge while away from the lessons. They are rewarded with surprise gifts after earning a certain amount of A grades. Students of school age are prepared for state evaluations and festivals and participate in studio recitals. I also work wit
Students also enjoy performing chamber music with their fellow musician friends and enjoy fun parties after recitals.
Adult students come to my classes for many reasons the main ones being: wanting to learn about music or to perfect their skills. Many students are also interested in preparing for auditions to music institutions or exams in the music field they are already majoring in. Other areas of interest my students have include church music, hymn improvisation and sacred music performance.
My studies began when I was 6 years old in my city of birth Brasov, Romania and ended with my Bachelor and Masters degrees at the Juilliard School of Music in New York City. I performed all over the world as soloist and chamber musician together with my two brothers who are also professional musicians, violinist and cellist.
Students will be given a studio informational package upon registering with my studio which includes my resume, studio fees, studio activities and general studio activities information.
My students find me to be very funny but at the same time professional and very serious in my expectations of their weekly preparation for lessons.

Justin completed his Master of Music degree at Belmont University in 2016 and his Bachelor of Arts in Music at Lee University in 2012. He cantors regularly at the Church of the Assumption, and maintains an active performance and teaching calendar.

What makes my lessons unique? I use vocal technique based on Yoga exercises to help open the voice, increase power, stamina, strength resonance and beauty. I learned this amazing technique from my long teacher, mentor and Metropolitan Operatic Tenor, Anastasio Vrenios.

I come to teaching with a variety of experiences: my own private studies, multiple years teaching privately, and four years working in a public school music classroom. Through all my different outlets, I have found the most success bridging what my students enjoy with a healthy singing technique that will allow them to perform whatever they want for the rest of their lives.
