From beginners who are just learning how to form chords to experts learning modal interchanges, I gladly take all students of any skill.

I have been working as a professional musician since 1987. In that time, I've played many roles alongside a wide range of established and emerging talent, from around the world, including band leader, accompanist, music producer, composer, arranger, co-writer, teacher, coach and mentor. Along the way, I have continued to pursue my passion for education, teaching private music lessons to amateurs, professionals and hobbyists from all walks of life.

I have been living and working in Nashville, Tennessee since March 2004. In that time, I have picked up LOADS of experience and techniques working with a long list of established and emerging Country, Alternative Country and Americana acts. I have a lot to offer in this area. I am not, however, your guy for "chicken-pickin'."

Country guitar lessons are where you'll learn some of the best riffs from great country guitar players such as Brad Paisley, Vince Gill, Chet Atkins, and more. Sessions are always tailored to your specific interests!

I have been teaching music lessons to students of all ages for over 15 years, including private lessons and undergraduate courses. I thoroughly explore all aspects of each exercise or song that I present to my students, highlighting the most important elements and takeaway points. Through a combination of playing songs, music theory, ear training, and personally tailored exercises to fit your needs, we will help you cultivate your instrumental "voice" and playing style.

I am passionate about seeing students grow. I strive to be energetic yet patient when teaching to create a comfortable dynamic in my lessons that encourages excitement about music.
I have been playing guitar for 9 years, and have performed professionally with groups playing styles ranging from jazz, country, rock, blues, funk, and even musical theatre. I am capable of teaching beginners as well as intermediate students.
My lessons encourage a strong knowledge of fundamentals, so that a student can continue to develop years down the road with their acquired understanding of music, but I also am also careful to tailor lesson material according to a student's interests, personality, and natural learning methods.

The lessons are about YOU and the music YOU want to learn. There are always certain aspects regarding technique and theory that encompass all musical genres, but I always try to put it in the context of the music YOU enjoy.

Most music teachers talk about their qualifications as a player. I happen to be a great player, but the reason you should study with me is that I am a phenomenal teacher. I possess the ability to clearly communicate complex musical concepts, I am patient and compassionate, and I have a strong vision for the growth of each of my students within the context of their interests.

A little about me: I wanted to learn how to play the guitar when I was 12 because my dad plays guitar, and, well... every 12 year old wants to be like their dad. In high school, I played in church and fronted a hardcore band. I studied Classical Guitar at Moorpark College and went on to receive a Bachelor's in Jazz Studies from CSUN in 2016. From 2012 - 2015 I taught at Dave Janssen's Music School in Simi Valley Ca where at one point I had 40 individual students and directed 3 bands. I am guitar player and songwriter from Virginia who has lived in Nashville for three years. My musical background has led me to play with various artists in different styles of music. I have a strong passion for music and want to instill that same passion into my students.

I've been playing guitar for the last 15 years and giving lessons for almost as long! I have a degree in music from the University of Miami and am currently touring out of Nashville. I'd like to think I have a fairly wide range of musical tastes (jazz, country, blues, acoustic, gypsy jazz, rockabilly, rock, etc.) and I enjoy the different challenges that each of my students bring to the table. So whether you're just wanting to strum a few old favorites at home, or if you're on your way to being a Nashville pro like me, I'd be happy to help you along your musical journey!
