About Russell
My name is Russell "Rusty". I have been a professional guitarist for 25 years. During the past 25 years I have managed the area's largest music stores, opened a Guitar Repair Center and became a "Certified *Fender Guitar Technician" . My experience with other musicians on stage and in the studio is without parallel. A "school" cannot duplicate real world experience. I understand the frustrations associated with finding the right person who understands how to treat you as an individual. A great instructor will not teach out of a book, they will write a book for you. A real Education in "playing guitar" is much broader than what you can learn from a book. I can help you understand the guitar in a practical and logical way, how to become a "guitar player" - not just how to "play the guitar". Lets talk about how I can help you meet
your goals.

*** Lesson Details ***
I want to make our time together something that you will look forward to each week. The guitar is a very expressive and diverse instrument. My goal as your instructor is helping you reach your own goal. I teach each student in an individual way based on your interest, and my assessment of how to help you reach those goals, every lesson is time YOUR time! I take time before each lesson planning our time together. Commit 3 months and you will be amazed at what you can accomplish, 6 months and you'll begin to play through songs, after a year you will look back with pride and realize how much you have learned. I consider myself "laid back" and easy to talk too, but I will encourage you to accomplish what I know you can. When you put forth effort forth, and follow your lesson plans, you will have a great experience! ~Rusty

*** Studio Equipment ***
HOME: lessons in dedicated music room, guitars, amps, bass guitar, music stand, cords, cables, picks, tuners, stand.....

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can provide any materials and or equipment relative to the area of study for myself in addition to the student should that situation present itself.

*** Specialties ***
Classic Rock, Hard Rock, Blues, and Country. I teach "slide" guitar for those students who are interested in learning more about "delta-blues" and rock guitar utilizing the slide in style very similar to Z.Z. Top.

I have been writing songs since I was 11 years old. I was the songwriter for several independent rock bands, the most notable being an indie psychedelic group called "Tod The Fox". I write worship songs for my church that we play on a regular basis, and have scored two films to date, one of which has recently been nominated for "best original score" at The Attic Film Festival in Austin, TX.

About Jordan
13 years ago, I picked up a guitar and began my life-long pursuit of music. This pursuit has led me in a wide variety of directions. Today, I am a worship leader for Fellowship of The Parks, an on-staff music-producer and session musician at Drive35 Productions, and a passionate instructor.

I have a passion for a wide variety of styles of music. For several years, I was the lead guitarist, singer, and songwriter for multiple independent rock bands, the most notable being an indie psychedelic band called Tod The Fox. I have led worship for many churches including Grace Fellowship UMC, Brazos Pointe Church, The Cornerstone College Ministry at UTA, FUMC Allen, Living Life Church, and Fellowship of the Parks in varying capacities. At UTA, I studied Jazz and Classical guitar under acclaimed guitarists Sam Walker and Billy Robertson. Here,
I also studied theory, piano, sight-singing, and music-production extensively. I graduated Magna Cume Laude with a Bachelor of Music-Media from UTA. After school, I spent 9 months interning/assistant engineering with acclaimed musician/composer/producer Brad Nyght at The Bakery Studio in Dallas- whose credits include being the drummer for The Michael Gungor Band and Desperation Band. Then, got hired as an on-staff session musician and music producer at Drive35 Productions. I have also played guitar, mandolin, and bass for multiple pit orchestras and guitar for the North Lake Jazz Ensemble with director Jim Eger.

My teaching style varies from student to student. Music is a wonderfully diverse subject and every student has his own aspirations. I will do my best to cater each lesson to the student's goals and interests. Whether that is classical guitar method, rock, jazz, folk, country, pop or anything in between.

I have an excellent internet connection and microphone set up for online lessons. I also utilize screen-sharing to make the lessons as close to real life as possible.

A few of my favorite artists include: Michael Gungor, Joe Pass, Andrew Bird, Chopin, Led Zeppelin, Glen Hansard, and Radiohead.

*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons will vary significantly from student to student. Not only does every student have different goals in mind, they all learn differently as well. I do my best to customize my lessons for each student's goals and needs. A typical guitar, bass, ukulele, or piano lesson may involve music-reading, chord studies, technical work, scale practice, theory, and of course learning awesome songs!

I consider myself a healthy balance between professional and light-hearted. As much as I want to make efficient use of the lesson-time, my primary goal is for the student to truly understand and enjoy music.

I have worked hard to be a flexible musician and teacher. I am competent in jazz, rock, classical, contemporary, blues, worship, country, and beyond and will be happy to teach any (or all) of these styles to any student.

Jordan is awesome! My son is 6 and he is very patient with him and doesn’t make the lesson overwhelming which is something I was worried about. Jordan is very pleasant and talented. He is also great at communicating and responds quickly if you have a question later in the week. Would highly recommend him to anyone and any age interested in learning an instrument. My son is still excited to be learning to play the guitar which I’m always surprised because to get better it takes practice and dedication. Thanks Jordan for making it fun too!

Learn how to write a song and all of the parts of the song that make it sound great.

Verses, chorus, bridge, etc... and lyric tips like rhyming and song structure.

About Paul
***My goal as a teacher***

I try to teach what the students are interested in and make it fun and interesting so that they learn the lessons and their favorite songs. Every student is different and needs to be taught in a way that makes learning easy and fun for them.

I have a passion for all people and all ages and am blessed to be able to teach from the very young, (ages 2-5 Toddlermusik lessons) to teens and adults.....all the way to senior citizens. I've had many older students all the way up to a 93 year old gentleman who is taking singing lessons and asked me to put music to his lyrics. We have recorded over 50 songs together.

***Background***

I started playing trumpet in 5th grade and knew that music was for me. I also liked playing with drums and piano also because they seemed exciting. I've competed in WSMA (Wi
sconsin School Music Assoc.) for many years which taught me a lot about performing for judges, being relaxed, and the importance of preparation.

I started playing the guitar and bass guitar when I was 13 and have never stopped practicing and performing since. I also have done a lot of writing, recording, producing, and have a Pro Tools Studio for students to use.

***College and Teaching***

I began teaching music lessons in college and enjoyed it very much. I received my B.A. in Music from the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point. There I was very much involved with guitar, piano, voice, trumpet, and being in bands and writing music. After receiving my B.A. I also took 3 years of Education classes at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. I write, produce, and perform my music along with performing with bands around the Midwest.

***Life in Music***

After receiving my B.A. in Music, I continued teaching and opened up my home studio. After a year and a half I had enough students that I was able to quit my factory job and teach music full time. I've been teaching, performing, and writing music ever since.

***Performing and more***

I have been on stage performing music since I was 11. In school band, marching band, competing in music competitions, and in bands touring the Midwest.

I have recorded many CDs with bands and on my own. My most ambitious project was a CD of my original music called, "Girls". I've performed my music and promoted it by being interviewed on Milwaukee radio stations along with internet music sites such as CD Baby. It is very exciting talking on live radio about my music and my passion. It is also even more exciting, and scary, playing my music live on the radio, lol.

***Instruments Taught***

I have been teaching for over 2 decades. Students take lessons for:
* guitar (electric / acoustic)
* piano
* violin
* voice
* drums
* trumpet
* saxophone
* harmonica
* music theory / ear training
* studio recording / songwriting

I also give kindermusik lessons to 2-5 year old all the way up to senior citizens 70-93. I play parties, concerts, and Nursing Home performances.

I am experienced as an online (Skype) instructor, and I have taught online lessons worldwide. I've witnessed great results from my online students (both national and international).

I hope I can help you with all of your musical goals and get you going in a positive musical direction.

I meet Paul about three months ago, While not a complete beginner, I had tried to teach myself thru out the years and picked up a lot of bad habits. Paul helped me to see and fix my habits. Paul is a very qualified teacher, of many instruments, drums, keyboards, guitar, and others. I'm 59 years old, Paul doesn't mind my age, doesn't treat me like I'm too old to learn new stuff. And is more than willing to see me thru complete guitar instruction. Thanks Paul...

Judith is a once in a lifetime mentor and voice coach that will work with you no matter where you are in your musical journey. She's been flexible, kind, and patient with me despite the fact that I had no prior musical experience whatsoever. I really can't put into words how much she's helped me in developing a creative outlet for myself. She also has a great concern for her student's health and emphasizes teaching how to sing in a healthy way without damaging one's voice. I've been her student for just a few months and I feel like I walk away with significant improvement every time I see her. Overall, I simply can't recommend her highly enough.

I love writing and the creativity it unleashes. I can spend hours with my notebook and uke just getting lost in the music. I’d like to show my students how to use words and music creatively to find their own voice in songwriting.

About Leigh
Leigh, a soprano residing in the DMV area, graduated with her Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Performance from Virginia Commonwealth University, she has participated in masterclassesv with artists such as Arianna Zukerman and Ann Baltz and performed in many productions. Her most recent role was as Hermia in A Midsummer Nights Dream with Shakespeare Opera Theater in Manassas.

During her time at VCU, Leigh was a featured soloist with The VCU Women's Choir and the Commonwealth Singers on multiple occations. She was also featured in the roles of: Gianetta (The Gondoliers), Jou-Jou (The Merry Widow) and Papagena (The Magic Flute).

During her time at school she started teaching voice lessons in Richmond VA. Since then, she has taught students from all different ages and abilities. She loves how a voice lesson can turn any kind of day into an
amazing one. The ability to make a student smile through music when something finally clicks or they get to sing their favorite song is the most amazing feeling.

This year, along with a personal recital and volunteer work, Leigh was contracted to sing as the mezzo soprano soloist in Saint-Saens Noel. In the year to come she will be studying with Arianna Zukerman, building her personal voice studio and preparing for her busy summer. She will be singing in New York City as the Sleep Fairy and the Gretel understudy with the Manhattan Opera Studio where she will also perform an aria and opera scenes concert at Carnegie Hall. Following that she will travel to Tuscany to sing and study with Bel Canto in Tuscany!

Hello! Through my four years at Juilliard I have studied the great American songbook in depth. I have an extremely strong basis of the evolution of song in America, both technically and historically speaking. I'm obsessed with geniuses such as Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, Rodgers/Hart, and all other composers from Tin Pan Alley who paved the way for the future of American music. I'm also very proficient with pop, and especially R&B/soul from the 60's until today.

I am a member of ASCAP and SACM songwriter societies and I would love to help you communicate your ideas and experiences through melodic ideas. Rhetoric figures, rhymes, phrasing, smart analogies and more tools will become second nature for your songwriting craft.

About Rodolfo
Vocal Coaching & Wellbeing Singing

I have been teaching singing for 10+ years. I've enhanced singing lessons into a complete program of vocal mastery/songwriting with a blend of wellbeing techniques.

I am an active music artist, music production collage graduate, "The voice" ex-participant and vocal producer with vast experience in online music marketing.

Today's music industry requires to be prepared and aware of its fundamentals. Voice mastery, digital distribution and streaming, producing, audio recording, royalties, interpretation, social media, songwriting, copyright, are all random pieces of a puzzle you must put together in order to succeed.

I've been making music for over 22 years and I've felt the pain of figuring out this puzzle by myself. I've been copyright stolen, false magic lesson invested, lousy contract scamme
d, paying to perform, falling short of budget, trading soul for fame and many other beauties of this industry in my journey to try to make a living out of expressing myself.

My goal today is to use my experience to shorten the learning curve of others. My scope is on keeping you focused on your craft and introducing you to technologic tools that will allow you to keep expressing yourself purely and make it a sustainable lifestyle or an empowering hobby by seeing progress and results.

Stay focused on your dreams
