I was impressed by her passion for music and teaching. She had all the ideas in detail about how she would direct the lessons. I'm pretty sure she could handle the advanced level. I can't wait for the next lesson.

Although classical music is my favorite, I like to make sure my students are well-rounded and are able to explore their own interests. Scales, cadences, music theory, and standard teaching materials are the framework of each lesson. Added to that are explorations of classical, pop, and jazz music, aural skills, learning to play from chord charts, efficient playing technique, etc.

About Jennifer

I have a relaxed yet thorough approach to teaching and playing, and I love working with students of all ages and abilities. As an active performer, both as a soloist and in collaboration with vocalists and instrumentalists, I am classically trained and experienced in many styles of music. Lessons i

From healthy physical positioning to learning about the history of the composer and composition to the beautiful musicality she is able to pull out of her students - she is a truly gifted teacher.

We are return customers to Kelly. My son loved her as a piano teacher but we stopped when he was taking trumpet during school. Now that he’s over trumpet, we excitedly reenrolled with Kelly. She’s so encouraging and positive. We just did my son’s first online lesson through TakeLessons and it worked flawlessly. I’d recommend Kelly in a heartbeat.

Music is such an important aspect that can be enjoyed by all ages. My approach to lessons is individual-based and flexible to your goals and needs. I believe that the enthusiasm, love, and enjoyment of playing music should never be lost, and it is my goal to maintain and cultivate your continued interest in music.

Learning piano should be a balanced skill. We will improve or learn piano techniques to help you play the pieces you've dreamed of, as well as hone ear sensitivity to sound and a creative imagination for bringing the music to life. As a concert pianist, there are definitely pianistic techniques and "hacks" I can share that will help in grasping both difficult musical and physical techniques.

With a Doctorate Degree in Piano Performance, my training included pedagogy classes and experience teaching all levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced, college professional) at all ages (from 4 to adult). Although I am a classical pianist, I am happy to work on popular songs, some ...

Alison is great at explaining complex terminologies as well as breaking down difficult piano techniques. Her passion and understanding of different classical music styles exude even when she is just demonstrating a repertoire during our lessons. In addition, her patient and kind personality make our lessons very enjoyable and rewarding. Every week I look forward to our lessons and I am always excited about them.

Because Alison is also an inspiring role model herself, she constantly challenges me to become a better pianist. Throughout my years as her student, not only has my piano skills immensely progressed on a technical level; but I have also learned how to better interpret the repertoires of different styles, and conveying those emotions through my playing.
Alex
Alison is an extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and experienced instructor. Her love for music comes across through her words and demonstrations, and she knows how to pinpoint and help me with both technical and musical issues. She also helps me understand the piece better without getting too theoretical or technical, which allows me to make more sense of what I am doing and still maintain interest. Her teaching is organized and detailed, which I appreciated. I highly recommend Alison for piano lessons!

"I have now received 9 months of training from Paul. I am amazed at how with his knowledge, help, patients and teachings I can say I play the piano and actually can play any easy piano arraignment. Being able to make this claim says a lot about Paul and his training. I am able to read the sheet music and no longer have to constantly look down at the keys. Paul has shown me so many different fingering options to achieve a much smoother transition of the position of my fingering. I know that no matter what issues I may come across during a piece that I can count on Paul to help me to figure out how to overcome the issue. Paul has so much to offer and I am like a little sponge.... Thank you Paul and I can’t wait to hit that one year mark of training and education from you."

"My son has been taking lessons with Stephen for several months. He was unsure if he wanted to learn how to play the piano at first.
After the first lesson my son felt engaged, self motivated to practice and interested in reading notes. His skill in reading music, understanding some theory and playing has rapidly improved.
I attribute his sucess to Stephen. From the first lesson Stephen has been engaging, turning learning into more than directions. My son is comfortable asking questions and Stephen is great at explaining what he's asking and why.
Stephen communicates with us. We feel like we can support our son and provide him with what he needs.
I highly recommend Stephen. Hes a talented musician and excellent teacher."
