Beckie E. North Hollywood, CA

About Beckie

Hi! My name is Beckie and I have played music for all of my life. I play many different instruments such as the Trumpet, French horn and Piano. I graduated from Chapman University in 2010 with 2 degrees in music, Music Education and Music Performance on French horn. I also taught elementary school for 3 years and was a brass coach for a Montessori Academy. I have taught privately for 10 years now and love the one-on-one attention that I can give the students. I currently work for the Los Angeles Philharmonic, I perform with two different orchestras and am in a Brass Ensemble called the Vine Street Brass that performs for events around the city. I look forward to working with your or your child in helping to start or continue a musical instrument! *** Lesson Details *** When I ...

Beckie is wonderful. My 11-year-old daughter has been meeting her online for about 6 lessons now. Beckie is very patient and engaging. My daughter has asked to add on longer lessons. That is a good sign!

Beckie is fabulous - with children, too!

Our 5 year old son has been taking trumpet lessons with Beckie now for 3 months. He has done amazing progress, is eager to practice every day in order to please her, and looks forward to each lesson. Beckie is incredibly encouraging, kind, yet strict enough to keep child's play away from the lesson, and finds ways to make a small child understand the basics of music theory. She balances the lesson nicely between actual playing and theory, never tiring out the student too much with either one. She's reliable, always on time, and communicates very well with both student and parents about any wishes we may have. She makes our son feel special, and he is very sad having to leave her, as we are moving out of the country this summer. His own words being: "Isn't it sad that I'll have to stop my lessons with Beckie, now that we've just gotten started - I really like the way she teaches."
All this to say... we warmly recommend her, and regret having to stop lessons with her. And that we encourage anybody, adult or child wanting to learn the trumpet (or any other instrument Beckie teaches!) to use her services!

Spanish has always been difficult for me, but Michelle has helped me so much! She's the first Spanish teacher I actually look forward to seeing each time we have a lesson because she makes the lessons so much fun! She's very funny and easy to work with. Whenever I need to make a change to a lesson she always does everything she can to make it work. I've finally been able to raise my grade in Spanish after working with her!

At the risk of giving away my best kept secret, Michelle is THE BEST!!!

Not only is she an amazing teacher, she is an incredible talent, and awesome person. Her relaxed and nurturing nature enables you to feel super comfortable and excited to learn. She motivates you to try your best and focuses on your strengths, while building and improving upon your weaknesses.

I've taken singing lessons in the past, and after one class with Michelle, I realized, I hadn't learned anything! If you really want to learn in a positive and motivating environment, take classes with Michelle. Just don't sign up for my time slot...I called dibs and I'm going to be taking classes for a while! Lol. =)
Francisco P. North Hollywood, CA

About Francisco

I was born in Argentina. I began playing bass when I was ten years old, while my younger brother began playing drums. I started taking bass classes, and also formed several bands as a bass player, although the drums had always been sounding in the back of my head. After listening to Tool’s Danny Carey and Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater, at the age of 17, I realized the drums were my true love, and began studying the instrument. I continued playing bass in several bands, until I joined the band The Evenfall as a drummer, in 2009. At this time, my family was considering moving to the U.S, and that's when I got the chance to apply to the Berklee College of Music. I graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2012 with a degree in Drumset Performance. There I studied with the most respected drummers and ...

Francisco is such a great teacher. He tailors his lessons to your needs and challenges you just enough. I took lessons with him for about 8 months, which ended when he moved to the west coast. Otherwise I would still be with him. But he taught me so much and still checks in to make sure I'm sticking with it months after our sessions have ended. He genuinely cares about his students and their love of music and he enjoys teaching and motivating others to play. I highly recommend Francisco as a teacher as he will get you where you want to be.

I took up drums 2 years ago in my early 40's. Francisco was my first drum teacher, and he patiently introduced me to the instrument, exposed me to many different musical concepts and traditions, and really increased my interest in music and drumming. He is an amazing player, and I learned much from watching him play in lessons and also live. Unfortunately he moved from Boston to CA, which was my loss.I reccommend him without reservation.

I took many lessons with Francisco after a period of relative inactivity from playing drums on a consistent basis. I had been playing for years, but had unfortunately become rusty and out of practice at the time. Francisco helped me build my chops back up, and introduced me to new unique concepts in phrasing, approaching grooves, technique, and much more. Francisco's down-to-earth and very friendly personality, combined with his obvious passion for drums and percussion, made every lesson an event I looked forward to. He gave me a lot to think about each lesson, providing me with great musical concepts that can be studied for life. Francisco isn't a teacher who only thrives teaching beginners. As a drummer for several years with lots of performing experience, he still managed to significantly help improve my playing and reignite my spark in drumming. Thanks, dude

Very good with young children

My son is 4 years old and has only had two sessions with Eli however, he does a very good job of communicating with him on his level and keeping his focus. He also has given him practice exercises which seem to do the trick.
Andrea B. North Hollywood, CA

About Andrea

I come from Italy, but have been living in the US for the past twelve years. I have achieved two degrees (production & performance) cum laude at the prestigious Berklee College Of Music in Massachusetts and have ever since worked as a guitarist and producer. I have been teaching for over ten years privately and in schools. I have helped students of all levels from beginners to fellow professionals. My philosophy is to make the learning process as enjoyable as possible and at the same time make sure the student keeps marking solid progress towards their goals. I believe to achieve that as many of my students told me I had helped them not just in the subject, but in their overall confidence, concentration skills and the quality of their study or practice.

Andrea is a very good guitar teacher, I can guarantee. While he was in Italy this summer, I had the chance to take a few lessons from him. I am a beginner, so we focused on rather simple things, but what I can say without a doubt is that his approach to teaching is very useful and at the same time funny. I had taken some lessons with other teachers before, but they were somehow dull and left me a sensation of "incompleteness" like I hadn't been able to fully comprehend what was taught to me. This was not the case. Plus, he's Italian, so could you ask for more than a good lesson AND pasta?

I've danced with Tara in many musical theater productions where she was quick to pick up choreography and break material down to help others better understand and catch on to the movements. She is extremely educated in all forms of dance, and is very creative with her own choreography. She's extremely fun and spirited. Highly recommend!

Terrific teacher! Tara is a fantastic dance instructor. She's sweet and instructive, which makes you love learning from her. She choreographed multiple dance numbers in past theatre productions as well as dance classes I've been in. She has also helped me prepare my songs for 'The X Factor', making me understand my voice in multiple ways. I HIGHLY recommend you take lessons from her!!
