I started teaching at ECC Idiomas while I lived in my hometown of Madrid, Spain.  I taught students of all skill levels and ages from varying cultural backgrounds.  Some students arrived with little to no Spanish language skills while other advanced students worked to achieve high marks on the DELE exam given through “El Instituto Cervantes.”  Whether low level beginners, or advanced certification seeking students, I worked hard to help each and every person meet their goals and succeed in Spanish.

I use personalized lesson plans emphasizing an immersion into the Spanish language and culture.  My lessons will engage students not only by providing grammatical and vocabulary building exercises, but also by inducing conversational fluidity through fun and exciting speaking activities.

Hello, my name is Sofia. I arrived a year ago from Madrid, SPAIN and I am looking to continue to teach spanish as a second language. I can provide classes for adults or children at any level as well as test preparation courses.I create fun and dinamic clases in a relaxing environment that are individualy prepared to meet the needs of each student.

Sofía was very patient and knowledgable. She spoke slowly and she really tried to make learning Spanish fun! I would highly recommend her to anyone!

Sofia has helped me take my Spanish from the "grammatical foundation" I learned in Spanish 1-4 at Loyola to an actual ability to communicate and interact in Spanish.  Having a native private teacher made all the difference and Sofia was GREAT!  She's fun and entertaining and knows her stuff!
