I started taking piano lessons in the first grade from a teacher who graduated from Eastman School of Music. I later won a scholarship to Eastman School of Music as a classical pianist. I have been teaching for 40 years and have performed in Europe and won First Place Piano Competition in New York with 200 of the best pianists in the nation performing. I wanted to quit in the 5th grade but my mother told me I was to young to make that decision for myself and she would not hear of it! Music is now like the air that I breathe. I cannot live without it! Thanks mom for being smarter than me. Playing the piano should be fun at any cost. I let students play many styles of music until they find the style that calls them. For young children I recommend the parent sit in with the lesson so the parent can help with the practicing at home. They need the extra support when starting piano lessons. *** Lesson Details *** Lessons are and should be a fun experience. I teach bits and pieces of college theory to students so they can play the whole keyboard and not just in the middle. Its nice to get students young before they develops bad habits. Piano keys should be played with the fingers and not moving the wrists. Bad habits are hard to break. My children students play like a pro, even if it is only one piece. Through me, kids learn to love music. I start lessons at age 4 years old to 99. Please call today to book lessons! "Learn a little but learn it well" ~Ben Franklin *** Specialties *** Traditional Classical and theory. I also get students ready for competitions and scholarships. I will teach any style that will ignite the flame in your child to love music! I designed the pre-school in Philadelphia for 10 years and now teach Wunderkeys to pre-schoolers starting at 3 years old. It is based on math and music and mostly fun and gets students ready for traditional lessons starting at age 6. I specialize in children. I will be taking new students starting January 4, 2020.

    F. Piano Instruction

Introduction: Please note: I am in Fairport, New York, but teach across the US (and internationally) by Skype. I offer a music lesson experience with special attention to each student's individual needs and goals-you are not just another number in a large music school. My education (three degrees in Piano Performance from USC, plus years of vocal study), performance experience (international tours as an accompanist) and teaching experience (both university and private) give me a unique perspective. I am also involved in theatre, which gives depth to my coaching. I use technology to work on both the audio and visual aspects of performance. Lessons are structured to include both technique and repertoire. I also offer Skype lessons for long distance clients. I look forward to working with you! With the musical moments and the joy which progress brings. Seeing my students playing in concerts, Master Class and Recitals and the pride of their family and friends is very rewarding for all. Reviews: You’ve unlocked the reviews widget! Sarah P. In the two years I studied from Rhonda I learned more about the piano than I had in my previous eight years of piano lessons. Not only did she help me to improve my technical abilities but my expressive abilities as well. She pushed me to improve my skills and never allowed me to plateau, always pushing me on to something that would continue to challenge me as an artist. I would recommend her to anyone. She is truly passionate about music, which makes her an even better instructor. Feb 20, 2015 Respond Karen J. Rhonda Fischer the quintessential musician extraoridinare, who is an alumna of Eastman School ,is my piano teacher. She imparts her knowledge and talent with enthusiasm, sincerity and intelligence. Her musical instruction is inspiring, educational and splendid fun. To enter the musical world of Rhonda Fischer is to be enlighted. Her exuberance is infectious. Jan 28, 2015 Respond Erin W. Rhonda Fischer instructed my son in piano for several years. She has the winning combination of technical expertise and a friendly manner that allows kids to feel special and engaged in the learning process. As parents, it is helpful for a teacher to understand kids, and Rhonda has that ability to connect with children. I recommend Rhonda for piano; theory, practice, and composition are all in her wheelhouse. Jan 23, 2015 Respond Maia P. I have double the experience as both a student of hers and as a piano teacher for my 5 year old daughter. Rhonda could explain whys I had, correct subtleties in form, inspire, and work with me and my daughter on expressing classical pieces written so long ago. Looking for an exceptional teacher who can take you from 0-100 is not easy, because a beginner most likely doesn't know all that's involved with learning correct form and all that goes into teaching classical pieces. Rhonda is open, caring, and doesn't hold back on giving. Enjoy her....she's a gem!…Read more Jan 1, 2015 Respond
