    About Miles M.

I'm a senior at Drury University, studying physics and doing research about space debris at our new observatory on the north side of Springfield. When I have a few hours away from the telescope, I like to study nature by going hiking in the woods. However, much to my delight, I generally spend my nights and weekends teaching other students. Nature does all kinds of neat things if you look carefully enough, and I'm fortunate to be able to pass those observations along. I don't like to teach in a traditional classroom manner, because I don't particularly like to learn that way. I'm not overly concerned with learning how to factor a polynomial this or that way, or what the name of such and such Taylor series is. I'm much happier teaching you interesting ways to think about math and physics in general, so that it's easy for you to work out the details on your own. I will question and challenge you more than your teachers do, and it will feel more rewarding when you finally get it right.
