Meijie Wu is an active soloist and ensemble artist. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance under Dr. Sharon Mann in San Francisco Conservatory of Music; and she earned her Master of Music degree in University of California, Los Angeles, where she was awarded the Exceptionally Qualified Scholarship based on academic achievement and potential. She has performed numerous concerts as a soloist and chamber concerts throughout the U.S. and China, Ms. Wu has been described as “passionate with terrific sound and full of imagination” by Dr. Sharon Mann. Meijie successfully performed her Final Master-degree Solo Piano Recital in May 2017. Recently, she attended UCLA Piano Festival 2017 “Dialogues and Re-imagining”, where she played Richard Danielpour’s Prelude. Her performance is well received by the audience. Meijie has been in the field of music for 20 years, and she has years of teaching experience ranging from beginner to advanced students. Meijie also has experience in helping students preparing for their ABRSM exams, and her students all successfully passed the exam. As a professionally trained pianist, she truly knows what students need to be successful learners, and she utilizes the most efficient method to fit every students’ need. Teaching philosophy: Every student has different ways of exploring music. Therefore it is very important to adjust to each student in order to better suit their needs. Her teaching incorporates theory knowledge with sight reading skills into the lessons, she thinks those music knowledge can help student to be a better performer.
