    About Marc S.

I have been teaching French at universities for 30 years and would love to share my passion for the language, literature, history, and culture to students. French is my first language, and I have spent many years living in French-speaking countries; I have lived in Vietnam, Lebanon, Morocco, and (of course) France. Regardless of whether I am teaching language, civilization, or literature, my main goal is to help keep my students engaged, motivated and challenged in learning. I keep in mind that most students are not experienced world travelers and try to make what I am teaching accessible and engaging. In teaching the French language I focus on developing conversational skills so the student will learn to speak with native competency. I have worked with students at all levels, from total beginners to doctoral candidates. I am available most weekdays from 9 am to 3 pm, and I can travel to meet the student at a convenient location or teach online. I look forward to working with you & helping you further your French language skills!
