*Availability starts June 24th! Please reserve your spot in advance!* I have experience teaching percussion to children from preschool through adults in their early thirties. I have recently graduated with a master’s degree in performance from the Longy School of Music of Bard College, where I had a two-year timpani assistantship to perform with the orchestra, had intense marimba and mallet training, along with drum set, and various orchestral percussion instruments. For fun, I enjoy hand-drumming for some of the Boston Ballet’s modern dance classes. My passion and enthusiasm to share my knowledge of percussion is what makes me a great candidate for this position. Learning a percussion instrument should be a balance of hard work and fun. I have a strong passion for teaching because I have been lucky enough to have had great music teachers. I feel that teaching and sharing music with others is the most important thing that a musician can do. My students produce great results, each overcoming their own set of obstacles and completing goals set specifically for their musical development. I hope to engage students in a structured yet fun and interactive environment in which they can approach any drum, marimba, triangle, tambourine, bicycle horn, cymbal, timpani, etc. in a confident manner to make the most of their learning experience.
