Experienced piano teacher of 12 years accepting students ages 8 to adult, beginner to intermediate! I structure my lessons to build a strong foundation of understanding theory and technique.  Although my preference is for classical, I encourage individuality and use Alfred’s Basic Piano Books for its broad application in various styles of music. Once the students complete the curriculum, they are equipped with the skills and knowledge to play most any music or proceed to advanced instruction.

Hi, there! My name is Laura and I can't wait to meet you! I've been teaching private lessons since 2002 and have loved helping my students learn both technique and theory as I seek to motivate them to play the best that they can and to instill a love for music. Although I do not hold a degree in music, I was trained to teach by a former music instructor from the University of the Pacific. I have been playing the piano for 40 years and I am looking forward to passing my knowledge onto you and helping you reach your goals!

Laura is the BEST instructor I could ever hope for as an adult learning to play piano!  She is so patient, kind and encouraging.  There are times, when I don't feel that I am able to learn to play, but I always leave her lesson with a renewed sense that I CAN do it and I feel so much better,  ready to keep practicing!
