    About Kazuki Y.

    Kazuki Yamanaka is a jazz saxophonist and composer born in 1985 in Saitama, Japan. He moved to New York to study jazz at State University of New York Purchase College, where he took a master degree of music in 2014. He studied with masters such as Jon Gordon (sax), Gary Smulyan (sax), Hal Galper (piano), John Abercrombie (guitar), Todd Coolman (bass), Jon Faddis (trumpet) and Steve Wilson(sax) at the school as well as took private lessons in New York City from Jim Snidero (sax), Steve Slagle (sax) and Miguel Zenon (sax). He has performed regularly at ShapeShifter Lab, Caffe Vivaldi, Somethin' Jazz Club, Silavana, The Shrine, Tomi Jazz, among others. His debut album “Songs Unconscious-minded” was recorded with Gilad Hekselman (guitar), Fabian Almazan (piano), Linda Oh (bass) and E.J.Strickland (drums) on June 2015. The album, which consists of all original compositions of his, has been released on August 2015.
