My lessons are very adaptive and cater to your styles.  While I specialize in rock, blues, and jazz, I can also help develop skills in classical and world music.

Hi!  I'm Julian.  While I specialize in guitar, I also know my way around keys, bass, and a drumkit.  I've been teaching guitar for about 11 years, and have spent a few years teaching out of music shops. My style is adaptive and fluid to suit a wide range of desires and skill levels, but in addition to guitar technique you can expect to learn a good deal about music theory.  I love teaching music more than anything and would rather do nothing else. I come from a blues/rock background and studied jazz guitar and music production at Shenandoah University. Julian taught our 11 year old grandson to play drums during his summer vacation with us.  Though time was limited, our grandson learned a lot, had a lot of fun, and left with a desire to pursue more music lessons.  Julian was patient and kind, and clearly knew a lot about how to teach music.

Julian is an extraordinary guitar teacher.  He's been teaching for years and his students love him.  I've seen him work with very young children, and mature adults.  His gift is in his listening to his students and helping them discover who they are musically.
