Judy began her pro singing and piano career at 16 and continued touring and singing shows throughout her college training at Fla. State Univ., getting her BME degree. After that she sang with pop, rock, and gospel groups and has sung and played piano live and in the studio for more than 20 years as well as teaching during that time. She continues to write and sing as well as training students who have performed on MTV, VH 1,and have toured both regionally and nationally! Beginning students are just as important at Judy's Studio! She strives to help her students develop a love and knowledge of music, enjoy their learning experience, and become the best they can be! Contact us now while she has availability!!! *** Lesson Details *** At the first lesson, Judy evaluates her students current playing, singing, or writing levels by using a full 30 min. evaluation technique. Then she develops a specific learning program for each student. In piano she determines the best lesson materials and both teaches note reading, tempo and rhythm drills, scales, and other technique. She also has students play by ear as well to further develop their skills. In voice after the evaluation she begins technique drills and exercises on breath control, pitch, tone, ear training and performance. She then teaches the students to incorporate these skills into songs. Judy teaches all styles of music and encourages her students to learn songs of their choice as well. In writing she teaches the creative brainstorming process, development of lyrics, and how to build melodies in the key of C, then more difficult writing exercises. A very important component of her training is identifying the innate talents and skills of each student and helping them see develop those personal talents!! *** Studio Equipment *** Large living room studio with piano, PA system with microphones to work with singers on microphone technique and performance, also a sitting area for students and parents to wait as well. *** Specialties *** Voice: all styles, piano,all styles, ,speaking & acting voice, singing, songwriting.
