I am passionate about guiding each student to explore his singing voice and full artistic expression in both Contemporary Commercial Music and Classical repertoire. Emphasis is placed on functional somatic voice work, and healthy vocal technique through successful breath support, effective vowel modification, and increased self-awareness and freedom in the body. I also incorporate Yoga principles of body awareness, breath training, as well as Andover Education and Alexander technique principles into my comprehensive vocal training style, as I believe kinesthetic body awareness is integral to successful singing. In addition, I delight in engaging each student’s imagination and musicality so that they may express the composer’s intentions with their own authentic voice.

I wish there were more subjects I could select to describe what Jaclyn does. She not only teaches my two boys - ages 8 and 6 - how to play piano, read music and sing, she also teaches them patience, how to work through challenges and the best way to approach concepts that are entirely foreign to them without freaking out. They also both learn a bit of dancing, too! They've both come such a long way over the few years they've been taking weekly lessons from Jaclyn and we get such joy from hearing them play. Jaclyn is also a really sweet person and so great to work with. Take lessons from her - you won't regret it!

My daughter Violet loves working with Jaclyn because she's energetic and very focused on her specific progress and goals. Violet started with her a few years ago with no experience at all, and progressed quickly to reading music, playing separate hands and then hands together on the piano. She just recently had a recital where she successfully performed the most complicated two-hand piece to date, and Jaclyn was there cheering her on. Jaclyn also pays attention to related talents, and has begun teaching Violet to sing and play ukulele, which has had an energizing effect on Violet as she sees the skills overlap. It's had a very positive effect on her attitude, and she's more excited than ever about practicing, which is all a parent can ask for! : )

Jaclyn is such an amazing teacher and my daughter is eager to not only attend her weekly piano and singing lesson, but to also practice throughout the week. Jaclyn is so comfortable working with children and is such a gifted musician, so the combination makes for very excited, motivated and proud students!
