I'm a Brooklyn based guitarist composer and educator. I have been teaching for about 14 years. I have experience working with students of all ages and students with special needs. I have toured internationally as a guitarist (sideman and with my own projects) and perform regularly in Brooklyn. Though I have created a number of curricula for various techniques and styles, I believe in tailoring my lessons to the needs of each individual student. Fostering an enjoyment of music is of great importance to me. I can teach jazz, blues, classical, country, rock, and pop guitar techniques as well as claw hammer banjo and electric bass. I can also teach music theory, composition and arranging, notation, jazz harmony and improvisation (for any instrument).

Very helpful and patient as an instructor as well as talented as a musician. Great balance of teaching relevant theory and helping you learn how to rock out to your favorite songs.

I found out about Dustin through one of his old students who gave high praises. I showed up to his apartment, and was immediately immersed in a super chill environment. He offered me a cup of cold brew and had me try some left over spare ribs that he and his girlfriend/roommate had the night before. We got along right away, and I felt very at ease and welcome. We warmed up with a 12 bar blues jam session in E. We switched off playing licks and supporting leads. His experience and mastery was apparent right away despite a modest outward impression. Then we started to work on the classic Townes Van Zandt tune Pancho and Lefty. I was new to finger style so i didn't get the hang of it during our first session. He took notes, and gave me some homework of finger patterns and parts of the song. We finished up with another jam. I was there for close to an hour and a half but he only charged me for one hour. Very easy guy to be around with an incredibly vast and deep knowledge of his instrument. Can be hard to find parking by his place but I'm sure if you let him know he won't give you a hard time for being a few minutes late
