Trumpet with David S.

Playing the trumpet for 17 years, David has performed all across the country with high praise. A native of Grand Rapids, MI; he performed for two seasons with the Grand Rapids Youth Symphony before attending Western Michigan University to earn a Bachelor's degree in Music Performance. While in Kalamazoo, David frequently performed in area pit orchestras, most frequently appearing with the Kalamazoo Civic Theater. He also served as a substitute musician with the Southwest Michigan Symphony and the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra. Following an audition at The Juilliard School in New York City, David was invited to study trumpet with Kevin Cobb; an internationally-renowned chamber musician with The American Brass Quintet. While attending graduate school, David was a charter member and principal trumpet of the Hartford Independent Chamber Orchestra. David currently serves as the principal trumpet with the Grand Rapids Symphonic Band while teaching, performing, and composing.
