I started playing guitar when I was 14 years old, and I continued to pursue music as a serious profession when I attended McLennan College for Commercial Songwriting. Now I am currently teaching guitar and basic drums for a music school, while also performing in a live Top 40 cover band. I consider myself a serious songwriter as well, and I have been writing and recording my own tracks for 8 years. I encourage my students to bring in music they are interested in learning because learning how to play guitar or drums is more than just theory and techniques. Music is meant to be fun! I also personalize each lesson for every student based on what they are looking to learn and improve. Every student learns at a different pace and there is no rush to get where they want to be -- patience is just as important as practice.

I can't imagine how it could have gone any better. Clay is a gifted teacher who quickly understands how to adapt the instruction to the student. You can tell when it has been productive and engaging when 45 minutes seems like 10. Can't wait for the next one...
