I specialize in teaching the novice learn how to sew. You will learn how to use your sewing machine and sew by hand. From having no experience at all to repairing a seam, hemming pants, replacing a zipper or tailoring a shirt. You will learn basic construction skills, how to use a pattern and make items for your home. If you have a specialized garment, I can assist you to make a pattern from that piece. Give it a whirl, you'll save lots of money on seamstress fees and make custom items all by yourself.

Textile arts are a great creative medium. I started with crochet and sewing at age 10 and have been going strong ever since. I enjoy helping friends learn needle arts and have made gifts and personal use items for many years.

I had my first sewing lesson with Claudia and I was so impressed. I know sewing basics but have a new machine and needed to learn zippers and button holes. Claudia went over my machine with me and helped me navigate all the new features. She knows her stuff. We went over the information I needed to know about the different feet to do zippers and button holes. She showed me how to put on the feet and told me about other feet I might want to get. I am starting a project and next lesson I will do button holes and zippers myself. It is so worth taking the lessons. She is professional and very nice. I highly recommend her.
