Hello! I moved to Los Angeles in 2009 to pursue a Master's degree in Classical Guitar Performance at the University of Southern California under the tutelage of world famous guitarist, Scott Tennant. In addition to Tennant, I've with several of today's leading classical guitarists including William Kanengiser, Brian Head, James Smith, Pepe Romero, Jorge Caballero, Sergio and Odair Assad, Pablo Cohen, and Timothy Walker (during a stint at the Royal Acadamy of Music in London). As an undergraduate music student at Ithaca College, I honed my chops as a performer in both ensemble and solo settings, giving frequent recitals throughout upstate New York. Of my musical abilities, my college guitar professor once wrote, "Brian is one of the most virtuosic guitarists I have ever come across in more than fifteen years of teaching at Ithaca College. His technical ability, sound quality and very passionate interpretations are comparable to the skills and artistry only found in a handful of today’s young professional guitarists" Though the bulk of my training has been in classical guitar, I'm a lover of all styles of music, and would never to think to push a formal classical guitar education on someone who isn't interested. But no matter what style of guitar you'd like to pursue, I will certainly pepper in some classical techniques and exercises to make sure your fingers are moving as effortlessly and efficiently as possible. I also place a strong emphasis on music theory, and learning to read music. *** Lesson Details *** As a teacher, I am personable and laid back. I will go to every length possible to accommodate your individual needs and make you feel at ease. When it comes to musical interpretation, I am a firm believer that each individual should find his or her own voice. I am never one to tell you that you must play as I play. That said, I am a stickler for proper technique. It is the most important tool you can have when you want to express yourself musically. Student-wise, I am comfortable teaching ages 8 and up. Complete beginner, or seasoned professional I can help take you where you want to go! *** Studio Equipment *** Living room: large space, good acoustics, chairs, music stands *** Travel Equipment *** they should provide a guitar, and two chairs. I can bring my own music stand. *** Specialties *** guitar: beginner - advanced trumpet: beginner - intermediate bass guitar: beginner - intermediate

I have been attempting to study the guitar for several years with different teachers. Being a busy professional it can be a challenge! I am currently studying with Brandon and am thoroughly enjoying our lessons! He is the most patient, attentive and dedicated teacher I have had, he breaks things down so they are easy to understand and lets you progress at your own pace. Regardless of your level or your goals, I highly recommend studying with him!

Brian is an extremely effective teacher. After having before received guitar lessons years ago, I am learning that some things on the guitar are counter-intuitive, such as training to press on the frets very lightly. My technique is progressing rapidly under Brian's mentorship. His approach to the guitar is very systematic and sensible, and the quality of his instruction is very high.
