I have been teaching drums privately in the Baltimore and central Maryland area for the past nine years to students of all ages and abilities. Many of my students have gone on to win music scholarships and play in successful regional rock groups. Additionally, I love to teach those with special needs, including autism, Asperger’s, ADHD, dyslexia, etc. ​ Beginners will learn the essential fundamentals of drumming and rhythm, all while enjoying and expressing themselves through music. Most beginners walk out of the very first lesson able to play an actual groove! I structure lessons based on your needs and goals, with a heavy emphasis on playing along with your favorite songs and bands. Other essentials you will learn include proper grip and technique, keeping steady time, basic rudiments and patterns, reading notation, listening and ear training, fills, and improvisation. Above all, we will have fun making music! ​ Intermediate and advanced players will be pushed well beyond their current percussive abilities. I will work together with you to create a specific, goals-based curriculum to get you where you need to be. Whether you want to get that gig or ace that audition, need a new direction to your expression, or just want to hone your chops to be better than the next guy, I can get you there.
