    About Dia L.

After singing and performing for nearly my entire life, I have been in many musical projects and performances, including ongoing collaborations with Stuart Bogie ( Antibalas, Iron and Wine, Arcade Fire), and Joe McGinty (Psychedelic Furs, Nada Surf, Loser’s Lounge). I have sung with abandon in indie hot spots like Brooklyn Bowl, performed tributes at festivals like Mountain Jam, and traveled like a gypsy--honoring my desire to live a creatively full and wonderfully strange life. In New York, I learned a holistic approach to vocal work from a combination of private instruction and master classes from my voice teacher, Kate Baker, hailed in many circles as “The Voice Whisperer.” I studied creative writing in the Colorado mountains with Dr. Clarissa Estes, New York Times Bestselling author of “Women Who Run with the Wolves,” and I graduated from New York University’s Steinhardt school with a BFA in painting and performance art. I know firsthand that voice work is an incredibly personal and individual experience. Many of the challenges we face in the voice, are also challenges we face in our lives, be it an outmoded fear or a way of approaching technique that may need shifting. Either way, I am here to be your support, your sounding board, and your teacher to help you move past what may be hindering your creativity or your voice and move you into a place of healthy expression. All the best, and may your voice be true! xx

    Superhuman Happiness

Superhuman Happiness is a electronic yes wave pop group based in Brooklyn NYC and born out of lively free form dance parties at the legendary Zebulon. Founded by Stuart Bogie ( Antibalas, Arcade Fire, Iron and Wine), we've played at indie hotspots like Brooklyn Bowl, Baby's All Right, Rough Trade, and the Music Hall of Williamsburg, as well as festivals across the USA. Here's what some people have to say about our last record, "Escape Velocity": “The addition of vocalist Andrea Diaz [Dia Luna] does wonders in creating a kind of lyrical back and forth with Bogie, a kind of 21st century update to immortal classics like Mickey and Sylvia’s “Love Is Strange.” Its true ambition, however, is the genre-bending to a point makes the music almost unclassifiable, yet remains a record that you want everyone to hear, as it inadvertently creates a soundtrack to a world you want to exist.”
-Glide Magazine "Few musicians have a cooler rock-and-roll résumé than Stuart Bogie, the creative mastermind behind this band. He’s played saxophone with many of the modern greats, including Arcade Fire, Iron & Wine, TV on the Radio, and David Byrne. The songs on the group’s new album, “Escape Velocity,” are pop perfection, with uplifting male and female vocal harmonies and extended disco beats laced with electronic nuances.“ -The New Yorker

    The Duchess and the Fox

The Duchess and the Fox is a cabaret noir duo comprised of downtown hero, Joe McGinty and myself. We've played shows in New York and beyond, at the McKittrick Hotel, The Red Room, and Sid Gold's Request Room. Here's what some people have to say about our most recent EP, "Every Night": “There’s a lot of emotion in these five songs and it’s a stunning way to enter the modern music pool – mired in tradition and skill in a time when it’s fashionable again to not focus on the strength of the songs. Thought and precision went into the writing and performances; these are finessed and nuanced and that it’s as barebones as delivered makes it even more of a pleasure to listen to and absorb.”
