"Sensei Jorge provided me the techniques/moves needed to bring my Jiu Jitsu to the next level. Actually, he teaches a Combat Judo that provides the detail
ed information needed to perform all three martial arts. His dedication and knowledge to assist in the learning is impeccable! I truly miss his classes! Anyone interested in learning from a professional needs to contact him for his class schedule!"

"I worked with Cam as he coached a community summer swim team. He was excellent at coaching swimmers of all ages. With his younger swimmers (ages 5-10), Ca
m was great at focusing on drills and swimming fundamentals that made each stroke understandable and fun. With his older swimmers (ages 11-18), Cam seemed to have a strong sense of when his athletes needed extra stroke technique instruction, and how to motivate the swimmers to work hard during training. Swimmers often asked Cam to be the coach in their lanes, and they seemed to sense how helpful Cam is as a coach and how much he cares about them being successful."

Hey, my name is Alex. I'm a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, bass, keyboards, voice, drums, flute, etc.), composer, performer, recording artist, arranger/orchestrator/transcriber, recording engineer/pro
ducer & music educator.
I graduated from the University of St. Thomas "Cum Laude" in 2011 with a Bachelor's Degree in Guitar Performance, with minors in Music Production & Composition. While attending St. Thomas I served as the Music Theory tutor, as well as the live sound/stage/light/recording technician for student & faculty recitals.
I have been playing professionally & teaching for over a decade. My passion for music is something that I love to share with anyone else who feels inclined to make music. My goal is to share the skills & knowledge I've acquired throughout my experiences with those willing to learn & dedicate themselves to the craft of making music.
*** Lesson Details *** I am experienced in most major genres of music: classical, jazz, blues, rock, funk, folk, metal, acoustic fingerstyle/slap, instrumental rock, "shred," pop, world music, electronica, etc. & feel comfortable conveying the techniques, approaches & idioms to a student by breaking them down into digestible components, while making these new ideas relatable to material they are already familiar with.
In the end, I want the student to learn what they're most interested in learning. I'm here to answer any questions they may have & with my experiences, I feel confident that I will be able to either answer these questions or point them in the right direction. Some topics covered:
Scales/modes Ear training Instrument-specific techniques (ie bending, tapping, sweep picking, etc.) Songwriting & Composition Arranging & Orchestrating Sight-reading Improvisation Chordal theory & how to read charts Practice routines & approaches Instrument maintenance Instrument-based gear (guitars, amplifiers, effects, picks, slides, capos, etc.)
The student will learn at the pace they set for themselves & can only get out of it the amount of effort they put forth. I expect my students to practice on a regular basis (however brief each session may be). Consistency is key for progress to be made, & if they hold up their end of the bargain, the payoffs will be quite substantial!
*** Studio Equipment *** Practice amplifier, tuner, music stand(s), guitar picks & cables.
*** Travel Equipment *** I can provide guitar neck paper. I expect the students to have their own instrument & any materials they may need to achieve the goals they've set for themselves (such as a weekly notebook).
*** Specialties *** Progressive rock, classic rock, blues, jazz, funk, disco, classical, acoustic fingerstyle/slap, flamenco guitar; music theory, sight-reading, composition, songwriting, film scoring, music production.

WHAT ABOUT TEACHING? Everybody wants the best. I believe QUALITY is the most important. Each person is unique and should be treated in a unique way.
What comes first? Question or answer? When we arrive on our first day at school do we have final exams? First the teacher shares some knowledge during class. Depending on the teacher's talent and passion and love for his work the students will learn something. Then only we have exams.
Life is the biggest exam off all. Every day we are being tested. With our family, friends, work. Hopefully wisdom will come out of this process. All we need is a little support to all grow together.
Teaching is a big responsibility. Parents and teachers, it is our duty to teach the best. Let's do our best together. Thank you.

thank you so much for improving my French. It is important for my studies. Thank you!
Hi, my name is Cortez. I've been training in parkour/tumbling/tricking for about 6 years and teaching for about three. In high school I ran track and field for 3 years and went to state my senior year
in the 4x4. I also was a team captain and helped coach the my teammates in the hurdles. I played football all my life up through my freshman year of college at Bethel University. I am extremely open minded and love to help others learn to better themselves whether it be physically or mentally. Along with being an athlete I am also huge superhero fanatic. I love comic books, movies, tv shows, or anything else related to superheroes. My friends and I like to dress up and cosplay as our favorite heroes to the premiers of every superhero movie. So if you are a nerd like me we will get along great! Haha but in all honesty I am an easy person to be around and loads of fun to train with, so if you like what you've read let me know and I'll be happy to train with you.

Cortez was awesome with my kids and we loved his enthusiasm and attention to safety!!
I am an active individual with much musical experience ranging from marching, orchestral percussion, world music, and all genres of drum set performance. I have spent the last 6 years playing and tou
ring with the United States Marine Corps Band, but prior to that studied at the University of Nevada. I spent my high school and college days playing with local Pops and Symphony Orchestras as well as marching in competing WGI drum lines. With the Marine Band I have toured in the US, New Zealand, Samoa, and Hawaii; with the Marine Band I played in Jazz combos, Rock Bands, Concert and Ceremonial Bands, Percussion Ensembles and did solo work with local universities. I have taught Private Lessons for about 7 years and enjoy seeing musicians mature and go on to strut their stuff!
