I have been lucky enough to tour North America, Asia and Europe with different Irish groups form small bands to performing 8 shows a week in the touring company of the Broadway show Riverdance. I have had lessons with Katie now for almost 2 years and I am very impressed by her dedication, patience and ability to motivate and engage me. I have performed in several events so far and for each performance, I heavily rely on Katie's input...so far, they've all gone well thanks to my astute instructor. I wanted someone that could help me grow in classical singing and I am happy I found Katie. Katie is able to teach a wide repertoire from Bizet's Habanera in French to Schubert's Gretchen am Spinnrade in German. She also takes me through diction before we start learning the songs. I highly recommend Katie to anyone new in the area looking to grow in their vocal technique no matter the style.

Tuesday R.

Detroit, MI

I emphasize a standard classical approach. I thrive on good, solid technique. This will enable students to master any type of music they wish to study.

In each lesson we will vocalize, work with your posture, breathing, vocal technique and repertoire of your choice.

Every student is different, so your lesson will focus on you and your abilities.

About Tuesday

I have been singing and playing piano all of my life. I took my first music lesson I was just three years old I never looked back! After high school I earned my Bachelor of Music Performance and my Master of Music. I attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond. It was in Louisiana where I began my teaching career, about fifteen years ago. After returning to Michigan, I began teaching K-12 music in both public and private school settings. I currently maintain a private studio in addition to teaching voice part-time at two of local colleges. *** Lesson Details *** I emphasize a standard classical approach. Marie K.

Ypsilanti, MI

Sing, sing a song. Make it simple to last your whole life long. Don't worry if you're not good enough for anyone else to hear. That is what we will work on. Music is in everyone and we all possess the ability to produce sound which means we can all learn to sing.

As always, we will focus on a healthy sound that will last a lifetime.

About Marie

Music can be found in every part of the world in every culture and there is nothing better than to be able to make your own music. I am a dramatic soprano and possess my master's degree in vocal performance and am still active as an opera singer around the country. I have a real passion for music and enjoy opening the doors for you to have the same enjoyment; and if we hit a road block there are always windows that can be opened! I have taken music lessons since I was five, so I am familiar with the trials and tribulations faced at all levels by music students and I have the patience and ability to work with you to achieve your musical goals. I have worked as a private teacher for several years with students as young as five and as old as mid-eighties and believe all that is required

My lessons with Marie are perfect for me. She is a very positive person which adds to my excitement of learning. Marie also understands that each person has areas of music that are easier to grasp than others areas and provides me with worksheets for my difficult areas; very helpful. Marie is also able to recognize how much I can do in a week (how many pages in the lesson and technique books) so I don't feel overwhelmed or underwhelmed.

I look forward to many more lessons with Marie and give her a 5 star rating. BTW, she comes to my house, which I appreciate, which allows me to play on my own piano for lessons.

Marie is patient and fun

Marie is my wife. However, she has also helped me learn piano. I am not good, however, she is patient with me. Let's face it, if she can teach me, she can teach anyone!

Marie is very talented (all husbandly love aside). She sings like an angel even when she would say she is doing terribly.

She enjoys teaching and goes the extra mile, often spending hours a week after lessons making sure her students have the warmups needed, music examples, and anything else you can think of to help them.

And, like I said, if my wife can teach her husband piano with a smile on her face, she can have patience working with anyone.
