"Glad she doesn't mind working with beginners
Not sure what to say except just want to make sure everyone knows how great Michelle is. Am a total beginner
and feel totally like fish out of water. All I have on my side is willingness. Am trusting Michelle will continue to provide the support and tools to learn how to speak and sing. Could not be more pleased and all though have only had 2 lessons so far, seems like she really goes above and beyond and that she does really care. Definitely definitely highly recommend."

"Hiromi is wonderful. This was my 13 year old son's first lesson on piano, and Hiromi tailor made the lesson to fit his level of experience. He was able to
improv and experiment with the keyboard, and Hiromi guided him through perfectly, while then following up with structure. Thanks to Hiromi and a wonderful first lesson. :)"

Not only is Peter very friendly and pleasant as a person, but he is a exceptional teacher. I am a instructor myself and
he knows how to personalize teaching so I understand and stay motivated. I feel as though I am learning quickly and he moves at my pace. I am very busy in life and he finds a wonderful way to make learning work for me. He such a comforting teacher and has a loving family, which makes the learning atmosphere safe and warm. If you are thinking of having a music teacher I know Peter would be the best choice, and anyone can learn from him:)"

"my kind of teacher
initially, I was reluctant about entering into the program. I thought the traditional mode of instruction always the best. it all chan
ged when I wanted to try learning the more unconventional way. it was an experience having Wilma for my teacher in Singing. she has way of making lessons so easy to learn. I admire her for the patience and for adjusting to my level as a beginner. seldom people find teacher who has the proficiency to make hard lessons understandable and easier. more so I like her style developing a more open teacher-student relationship where I feel free asking questions and clarifications pertaining to matters no clear to me as a student I felt her passion to her craft. all in all I cannot question her credibility as a music teacher especially in the area of singing which happens to be my interest. I loved the manner she presented the lessons. she made them adaptable to the situations. It was really an experience having her for my music teacher. my perspective has changed. though I started on a very low note, she made the lessons so interesting to look and study at. here is hoping I would still have better chances learning especially the voice lessons and with her as my coach, then, I fervently believe it is possible."

"Family Fun on Ukelele and Strumstick
Don has been wonderful to work with as a Ukelele and Strumstick instructor. I had an idea to get music lessons for m
y husband and 5 year old daughter as a Christmas gift. The thought was to have special Daddy and daughter time; sharing something that my husband loves to do. Don has worked with us to create a whole experience for them around music lessons. Don has succeeded in building an environment for our daughter to enjoy the music lesson experience. The first time she played 'hot crossed buns' brought a tear of joy to my eyes. He has even included me in the group lessons on Strumstick. My husband has expanded his knowledge of musical instruments and enhanced his playing skills with Don's skillful instruction. Don has made the whole experience delightful for our family."

"Stephanie is extraordinary!
I never gave it any thought that it would be possible to learn such a complex instrument via Skype. To find someone as profes
sionally trained as her is very challenging in of itself, but to have someone of her caliber teach my daughter from many miles away in the comfort of our home is truly amazing! Stephanie was very patient, observant, extremely knowledgeable and a talented teacher. It is quite a luxury to have the opportunity to work with her. I'd recommend her highly. If you are hesitant to try her online lessons I would suggest you at least give it a chance; you will be pleasantly surprised."

Adam is really super (I am only on my third lesson). He will make you feel comfortable and interact with you in a personable and dynamic way.
He is the perfect teacher if you want to improve your stage voice and pitch. Adam is the man if you have fame on your mind. Julia
If you are a little slow on the uptake, (like I am when I don't know the subject matter) you need to be brave and follow his directions in practicing techniques. Adam personalizes his lessons, but they could be more planned. They feel a little too unprepared.

Jeff is a seasoned instructor in guitar, songwriting, music performance and music business. He also offers lessons in public speaking, voice-over performance and ukulele. He welcomes students of all ages and experience and has successfully and happily taught beginners to pro-level musicians and recording artists. Jeff is pleased to announce that he is currently accepting Takelessons online students via Skype.
Jeff can teach guitar and songwriting in all styles and is an adept acoustic and electric guitarist. His knowledge of chords is extensive and his acoustic fingerpicking skills ar
e formidable. Jeff structures all lessons around the individual goals and playing level of his students. Jeff's students tend to study with him for quite some time, as his wealth of knowledge, diversity of instruction and patience are extraordinary. Jeff prides himself on customizing every student's lessons based on their particular preferences, goals and skill level. "It's a very personalized kind of instruction, as I never take a cookie-cutter approach to teaching…". Jeff's 3 promises to all students is to give them personalized lessons, be attentive to their needs and goals. and to make them feel like every lesson is worth their investment of time and money. As long as students practice regularly, they can expect to dramatically increase their clarity of playing, their chord "inventory", their musical ear and awareness and play the songs they've always wanted to learn.
After honing his craft as a songwriter and performer, Jeff created and taught songwriting and music business classes at colleges, universities, and music schools throughout the country for many years. Some of the places he taught include UCLA Extension, Santa Monica College, Pasadena City College and The Harrison School Of Music. When asked to summarize his views on teaching and music: "Teaching and playing music always puts a smile on my face; especially when I see that the student is having fun, learning what they want to learn and feeling the passion about music that motivated me to pursue my own musical career".
As a working singer/songwriter/guitarist, Jeff is known for his memorable melodies, intelligently crafted lyrics and heartfelt vocals. His compositions have earned him over 35 awards from various national and international songwriting contests and he's a former staff songwriter for the long-standing New York City-based publisher, Bourne Music. He has also won best music video awards at 3 international film festivals.
Some of the artists that Jeff has been compared to as a guitarist and vocalist include Keb' Mo', James Taylor, Kenny Loggins, Ry Cooder, John Mayer, Bill Withers, Jim Croce, and Don Henley.
Jeff is a NJ native, but lived and performed in Los Angeles for many years, where he worked in the studio or shared the stage with well-known artists such as Dave Koz, Norman Brown, John Daversa, Hiroshima, Little Richard and N'Dea Davenport.
Jeff catalog of over 450 songs and compositions spans virtually every genre, but many of his tunes are amalgams of pop, blues, jazz, R&B, country and rock. Quite a number of Jeff's songs have appeared in film and TV. One that Jeff is particularly proud of, is the dynamic pop ballad, "Journey Of The Heart" (co-written by Jeanne Smith), which was licensed by the N.C.A.A. (National Collegiate Athletic Association), who deemed it "the official anthem" of their NCAA Hall Of Champions facility in Indianapolis.
Jeff has commercially released 4 CD's of his original material: The most recent of these is his 2013 release, "Blujanova" (a merging of blues, jazz and bossa nova), which was praised by platinum selling and Grammy-nominated jazz star, Dave Koz: "Jeff's voice is so clean and pure...the production is lovely...warm and inviting...I love the interesting and surprising takes on some classics too, especially 'I Feel Good'…that brought a smile to my face!". The other CD's stretch into other genres. "Truthteller" (bluesy pop/rock and singer/songwriter material) "Me, Myself, and I" (acoustic) and "The Spin" (pop, rock, and country-tinged singer/songwriter material). All of Jeff's albums are on his label, Relevant Records. The late great John Braheny, author of the best-selling "The Craft And Business Of Songwriting (Writer's Digest Books), gave high praise to Jeff's CD, "The Spin", calling it "honest, crafty, melodic and the songs are all exceptional". Patch.com called Jeff "a consummate songwriter".
*** Lesson Details *** At the first lesson, I will ask you to tell me what songs you want to play and artists you want to play like and I will set the table for that by providing the chords you'll need, chord and scales and exercises to enable you to play them and guidelines and tricks on how to make it happen as quickly as possible. I know a wide variety of songs in all styles and styles, including current hit songs as well as pop, rock, blues, jazz, country songs. if you have a song or artist that I don't know already, I will learn it (often on the spot) and if not right then, at the next lesson. I have taught my students to play songs by artists as varied as Taylor Swift, U2, Jason Mraz, Adele, Eric Clapton, Django Reinhardt, Doc Watson. And that's just naming a few.
I always make it clear to my students at the first lesson: "There is no such thing as a stupid question". I want you to feel comfortable to stop me at any time to clarify what I am teaching you, ESPECIALLY if it is too difficult or vague. I pride myself on always being organized for your lesson and making sure that you grasp whatever it is I am teaching you. The goal is to get you to be able to play what you want as quickly as possible. This will take practice and dedication on your part, but I will do everything in my power to help you get there.
I never force anything on any of my students. but I feel it would be beneficial for you to learn to read music OR read tablature and chord diagrams. You tell me which one and we'll go in that direction. If you'd like to read music, then we can decide on a book for you. I have used Hal Leonard instructional books (with CD's! this way you can play with a backing track and get a sense of rhythm, which is very important), but I'm open to other method books you might have or like.
After 3 to 6 months, you will feel you are significantly more skilled on the guitar than you were before we started lessons. You will know more chords (and move from chord to chord), be able to do at least some basic fingerpicking and be able to read some music or tablature.
*** Specialties *** Acoustic fingerstyle guitar (a la James Taylor, John Mayer, Eric Clapton, Keb' Mo', Jason Mraz, John Martyn, Jim Croce, etc.
Blues guitar a la Eric Clapton, B.B. King, Keb' Mo', Jorma Kaukonen, Ry Cooder, etc.
Bossa nova guitar
Songwriting (any aspect and any level; musically, lyrically, structurally, etc.)
the songs of Taylor Swift---quite a few of my younger students want to play her material, so I have about 15 songs ready to teach you and always learning more (by popular demand)
Adapting songs that are keyboard-based and creating arrangements of them for acoustic guitar. Examples include songs by Adele, songs by Elton John, Irina Menzel's huge hit song from "Frozen", John Legend's "All Of Me", Coldplay's "Viva La Vida", etc.
Recording on Garageband. I became so skilled with Garageband that I was asked to give seminars at Apple Store locations, showcasing my recordings and how to use the program.
Voice-overs; performance, recording, etc.

Hilary is a professional flutist and teacher based in the New York/New Jersey area. Hilary will complete her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in performance at Rutgers University Mason Gross School of the Arts under the instruction of Bart Feller (NJ Symphony Principal Flute) this year. Prior to this, Hilary completed her master's degree in flute performance at New York University and also studied music performance at The Boston Conservatory. Most recently, she earned an advanced performance certificate after completing summer courses with flutist Patrick Gallois at the internationally recogn
ized Accademica Musicale Chigiana in Siena, Italy. She has performed with the New Jersey Symphony, Symphony in C, the National Festival Orchestra, Garden State Philharmonic, and others in venues like Lincoln Center and Symphony Space. She has years of professional teaching experience for all ages and levels and can help any aspiring flutist succeed!
*** Lesson Details *** My goal with teaching lessons is to give students of any age the practical tools and foundations they need to explore any genre or type of music. From young students just beginning middle school band to adults looking for an engaging hobby, I can help anyone develop their skills and unlock their inner musical talent! I tailor lessons and curriculum to suit each individual's musical goals, and I strive to make lessons fun and experimental for all ages--think of your lessons as a musical laboratory where we will explore and learn together! After 3-6 months of lessons with me, you will have grasped the foundations of flute playing (posture, breathing, basic finger technique, tone production, articulation) and you will have already learned many short pieces of music. You will also possess an understanding of basic music theory. If you are not starting as a beginner, after a few months you can expect to have improved your technique and finger dexterity. You will be producing a clear and unique tone on the flute and exploring the use of color, vibrato, and nuanced phrasing and articulation to make your music come to life.
*** Travel Equipment *** Students should provide an instrument and a music stand for flute lessons.
*** Specialties *** Flute lessons for any level, Music Theory tutoring, Beginner Piano lessons

Great learning experience
I took flute lessons from Hilary at NYU after several years of not playing at all. I was rusty and had accumulated quite a few bad habits, from poor posture to improper breathing. Starting out, part of my difficulty was in forgetting these habits and starting anew. Not only was Hilary very patient with me, but she also taught useful techniques along the way.
I also had a weak foundation in basic music theory, and Hilary's review lessons were incredibly helpful -- I found myself looking at sheet music and playing scales with a completely different mindset. I can honestly say that I improved significantly (and now I even find myself checking my posture when I'm not playing!). After having taken such a long break, I wasn't sure whether I'd want to start playing again. Hilary's lessons and supportive attitude helped renew my interest and for that I'll always be grateful!

Hilary is an amazing teacher
Hilary is an amazing teacher with a ton of knowledge about flute performance. During my time with her, my playing and musicality improved drastically. She has a lot of flute-playing metaphors up her sleeve that make it easy to understand more complicated techniques.
I would absolutely recommend her as a teacher.

As fun as she is professional!
I took flute lessons with Hilary during my senior year at NYU. I had never played flute before in my life, but I had gotten one as a gift and decided I might as well try and learn. I was very lucky to have chosen Hilary as my teacher!
I had taken music lessons in varying instruments every single semester while at NYU, and Hilary was easily the most memorable and enjoyable teacher I had. While most of my music teachers made our lessons seem like another class, Hilary's passion, excitement, and humor made learning the flute a fun adventure that I looked forward to each week.
In our first lesson, she was able to show me exercises and techniques that got me further in my flute playing than months of trying to teach myself online. In just a few weeks, I knew more than I was expecting to by the end of the whole semester, and I was rewarded by being able to play short but beautiful flute music.
If there was ever a time when I was having trouble with a particular concept or technique, Hilary was always able to either clarify it for me, or explain it in an alternate way until I got it. If I ever had any questions - and I had a lot of them - she was always able to answer them.
I not only learned a lot about the flute, but I had fun while doing it, which for me is the best way to learn an instrument. If you are considering taking flute lessons, I highly recommend you take them with Hilary!

Anastassia was patient and kind with my 12 year old daughter who had never had singing lessons before. When my daughter started to feel nervous she quickly calmed her and had her sing one of her favorite songs along with a you tube video of the artist. She helped her with her pitch and range and breathing too.
Teaching guitar, and music for over 13 years, 10+ years of that time spent in professional music schools and shops. In addition, I spent 6 years in a special needs school, teaching general music, and guitar to students with learning and behavior issues. I have had the pleasure of learning from numerous guitar teachers and mentors over the years including, T.T. Quick guitarist, David Dipietro. Recently having toured the US with national acts in the band McClinton, sharing stages with Saving Abel, Adelita's Way, Framing Hanley, Red, Winger, Steelheart, Bad Seed Rising, LA Guns and many more. I
'm proud to say that I have taken the skills I've honed during those years to stages and studios around the country. I can help you make sense of concepts that many students find confusing. Focusing on the goals the Students wishes to achieve. Ultimately, I teach a student to be able to progress independently. Learning songs is fine, but in the end it's about learning the concepts that allow the student to learn those songs on his/her own and be able to use those elements create their own music. I teach all styles, and levels. Also offering lessons for Bass guitar.
