Ms. Robin comes highly recommended by my daughter and I. She made the lessons "fun" for an 9 year old! She also let my daughter select her own songs which I thought was a plus ... students are much more engaged if they are singing something they like to sing. Ms. Robin is an enthusiastic teacher and motivates her students to do their best. She also uses vocalization exercises to encourage a better "range" before singing an actual song. My daughter always looked forward to going to Ms. Robin's lesson and I stayed for each lesson and was quite pleased with my daughter's progress.

Robin has been an excellent fit for my daughter(age 15). She has been very flexible with my daughter's rehearsal schedule and seems genuinely interested in helping her improve and achieve her goals. My daughter feels comfortable working with Robin and looks forward to her lessons. She is excited about continuing lessons and improving her vocal techniques and skill level.

excellent teacher

Maybe a bit premature after only one lesson, but after speaking with Robin at length over the phone, and being present during my son's first lesson, I must say I'm very impressed with her as my son's instructor. She has a vast portfolio of experience in a wide range of music, highly educated, extremely knowledgeable, and good at instruction. I'm especially excited that she incorporates music theory into the lessons. Highly recommended!

Daniel C.

Cleveland, OH

About Daniel

I am recent graduate of Music Composition and Theory from Antioch College, and I am a veteran of many bands, having performed in some of the largest venues around the country.

I favor a 'learning through experience' instruction style where my students can gain an in-depth understanding of music through the practice of their instrument. My students will quickly and simply learn the essentials of music theory, an understanding of what musical concepts are right for each situation and why, and the ability to compose and improvise musically while they are gaining the technical abilities and ski
lls to flawlessly perform on their instrument.

*** Lesson Details ***
My students will learn about scale, harmony, and its correct application. I will instruct them to quickly grasp the lay-out of their guitar and how it relates to the geometry of music -and thus they will be able to perform in a many styles of music within a very short period of time. This may sound difficult but it is incredibly simple in practice and can easily be learned by students of all ages! In as short of time as one or two lessons even beginning students will be playing beautiful music!

My curriculum is self-designed, but based on the experiential learning techniques, pioneered by Horace Mann, which he has been educated from. I have taught and studied music around the world, to discover the simple basics of music. Within a few short months each of my students has gained technical strength in playing their instrument and a confident understanding of the foundations of music. This teaches them the ability to write, perform, and improvise in any style of music.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Music studio: iMac for recording, cabinet Acoustic bass amp, Fender guitar amps, drum set, room for parents to sit in on lesson

*** Travel Equipment ***
I have a vehicle with room to transport equipment.

*** Specialties ***
rock, rhythm and blues, blues, folk, alternative

Instructor is very good and easy to work with. I seem to be making progress (slowly). However, I found an "app" called ultimate guitar chords that give fingering for all notes and lets you hear alternate (simpler) fingering to test how it would sound.Depending on how that comes out will may change my plans to continue with lessons after the first four.

Hello! I've been helping students succeed at performing piano music since 2001. Enjoy performing great compositions right away when we use Bastien's Favorite Classic Melodies. These books allow pianists to practice music from master composers. Fun supplemental materials include music from Blues, Boogie Woogie, Pop & famous Show Tunes.
My advanced piano students launch into an excellent series from Keith Snell which features the best Classical composers' finest solo piano compositions.

As one of my students, you can come to expect a friendly welcome at the beginning of the lesson and then throughout expect our main goal to be helping you make your best music possible. I possess a wealth of knowledge
and skill collected from decades of practice, master classes, winning competitions, earning degrees and performing both in bands and as a solo artist.
I am relaxed and happy, disciplined and product-oriented while at the same time understanding the difference between practicing for improvement and statically repeating the same exercise or passage over and over. We want to make the most of our time during the lesson and your practice sessions by focusing on achieving your goals quickly.
