This Teacher has Great knowledge

I have been taking lessons with Jefferey R. for a lil over a month now and i must say when i first scheduled the lesson i was skeptical of how the lesson would go. but after working with him i have to say he is very skilled in vocal training. He has helped me explore what my voice can do, is teaching me the fundamentals and what it takes to sing on a professional level. If any student is serious about improving their vocal skills and moving to the next level... i would refer them to Jefferey R.

Kyle K.

Cleveland, OH

The home studio is becoming a musicians must. As a professional composer I've learned how to be 100% self sufficient. I'll show you how to produce a great recording! You must know the ins and outs of the basics. I've been an audio engineer for 15+ years and I'll show you how to achieve great sound right away. Compression, EQ, panning, etc.

I specialize in using Ableton Live's recording software, but can work with any DAW.

About Kyle

I love music! To me, it's a way of life. From listening to playing to writing and of course teaching. I grew up with music at school and home. My dad was a piano player and teacher so music has been a part of my life since day one and I want to share what I have learned. Everyone has a unique musical talent and I enjoy helping them find it. I believe that anyone can be an excellent musician. Playing an instrument should be a fun and creative adventure. Whether it's strumming at home, playing out in the clubs, or writing the next big hit, I will do my best to get you there!

My musica
l life began when I was in 5th grade and my dad bought me a saxophone, which I played for over 10 years. I quickly learned how fast I could improve if I simply kept playing. When I hit my teen years I fell in love with rock music and mowed enough lawns to buy my first guitar. I jammed and wrote songs with many other musicians and several bands. We played countless shows and released a few albums. Now I write music for TV, Film, Video Games, and other media outlets and I'm having a blast!

I started teaching 7 years ago and found that it is one of my favorite things to do. Helping others grow into great musicians is rewarding and fun. I've learned that from grade school to retirement, each student is a unique and special individual. My lessons reflect that fact so that we can reach all your goals together. *My personal goal is to get my students to understand and write music that will stay with them and encourage them to continue.

All lessons take place in my fully operational Digital Recording Studio and dedicated lesson room. Gaining real world playing experience through technology is a definite advantage over traditional lessons. This also allows us to capture ideas when songwriting and provides a unique practice experience.

*** Lesson Details ***
Everyone is different, and every lesson should be suited to fit the individual.

Depending on the type of lessons (guitar, bass, music production, theory) the style teaching will be very different. It's all about YOUR goals and needs. I will get you to where you want to go!

Each student is going to receive lessons based on their preferences of genre and style of music they desire to play. I expect my students to practice regularly and have a good time as their abilities and knowledge grow. By working together, we can focus on goals and problem solving to get you to the next level of play. Most importantly, we are going to have a blast while we learn to play music!

Imagine looking back years down the line, listening to something you wrote and hearing the improvements and your own personal music history. That's what writing and recording as you learn is all about.

*We'll start slow and build your knowledge base with each lesson.
*You can expect to understand what you are playing AND be able to Write Your Own Songs.
*You will be given everything you'll need to succeed.

I have several reference books, videos, and charts; plus I can show you smart phone apps and websites that will help you learn and practice! We will learn songs, write songs, and record songs. I provide jam tracks for all my students to play along too and offer to record their own music for the same purpose. We also keep a running journal that we use each week. This allows the student to look back, see improvement and be encouraged to continue!

Within 6 months you can expect to understand how songs are built (including chords and scales), be able to play several, and feel comfortable with trying your own skills as a songwriter or guitar player.

Let's start playing!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Comfortable and fully operational Digital Recording home studio & music room w/ recording capabilities, computer, keyboard, amps, books, videos, various guitars and bass, tons of music to listen to and study, FREE Wifi and seating for parents.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I do not travel. My studio is the #1 advantage for learning!

*** Specialties ***
*Instruments: Rock, Blues, Metal, Indy, Folk and Acoustic styles.
*Production: Recording, Mixing, Mastering, Programming.
*General Music: Theory, Songwriting, Producing.

I personalize all my lessons for the students needs and interests. I use several different reference materials including: The Ultimate First Guitar Book, The Guitar Handbook, Shredding Guitar, Guitar Solo Strategies, and more. All my students learn theory and how to use it in song play and songwriting. I have them write short songs, record them, and finally use those songs to jam out their scales and use theory.

Kyle is a fantastic guitar teacher! He takes the time to show you how to play guitar with good fundamentals, and teaches you a little bit of music theory along the way without making it complicated. I tried learning on my own using online TABs and Youtube videos and a game called Rocksmith. This was a good start, but eventually I hit a wall and wasn’t really progressing. Kyle has really helped me develop my skills. We went over all the basics like how to hold a pick, how to hold the guitar, how to play single notes vs. chords, palm muting and alternate picking. I was missing all of this technique before and I was actually making playing the guitar more difficult than it needed to be! Kyle explained it all in a very easy to understand way and gives you as much detail as you need. I like lots of detail, so we went over everything! He knows a lot of little tips and tricks from playing as long as he has and this is the kind of priceless information you can't get elsewhere. He's very easy to talk to and has a breadth of knowledge on all kinds of music. We normally geek out about anything from Jimi Hendrix to 90’s music to more modern music and everything in between. I can’t say enough about how knowledgeable he is – highly recommended!

Cleveland, OH

20 years experience with Mac ans Windows software.
10 years teaching experience in the recording field.

About Daniel

I am recent graduate of Music Composition and Theory from Antioch College, and I am a veteran of many bands, having performed in some of the largest venues around the country.

I favor a 'learning through experience' instruction style where my students can gain an in-depth understanding of music through the practice of their instrument. My students will quickly and simply learn the essentials of music theory, an understanding of what musical concepts are right for each situation and why, and the ability to compose and improvise musically while they are gaining the technical abilities and ski
lls to flawlessly perform on their instrument.

*** Lesson Details ***
My students will learn about scale, harmony, and its correct application. I will instruct them to quickly grasp the lay-out of their guitar and how it relates to the geometry of music -and thus they will be able to perform in a many styles of music within a very short period of time. This may sound difficult but it is incredibly simple in practice and can easily be learned by students of all ages! In as short of time as one or two lessons even beginning students will be playing beautiful music!

My curriculum is self-designed, but based on the experiential learning techniques, pioneered by Horace Mann, which he has been educated from. I have taught and studied music around the world, to discover the simple basics of music. Within a few short months each of my students has gained technical strength in playing their instrument and a confident understanding of the foundations of music. This teaches them the ability to write, perform, and improvise in any style of music.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Music studio: iMac for recording, cabinet Acoustic bass amp, Fender guitar amps, drum set, room for parents to sit in on lesson

*** Travel Equipment ***
I have a vehicle with room to transport equipment.

he is very caring and passionate about music and you can tell in the way
he takes time to make sure you know what you're learning on a deeper level
than just tone and chords.

Instructor is very good and easy to work with. I seem to be making progress (slowly). However, I found an "app" called ultimate guitar chords that give fingering for all notes and lets you hear alternate (simpler) fingering to test how it would sound.Depending on how that comes out will may change my plans to continue with lessons after the first four.

My teaching method is very practical and customized to every individual. I do not believe that you can use the same style with every student because everyone learns differently. With any instrument I teach, I usually approach things from a three-part method, technique, theory, and application.

Music recording is a very broad subject and although it is tough to give a blanket summary of what every student will learn, this is a basic description. We can cover something as simple as getting a quality recording of your voice with a karaoke track to starting from scratch with an original song and layering in all the parts yourself.

In recording training, I cover the basics about how to set up a basic home studio with the equipment one needs to get a studio quality sound. A very big priority I have is empowering the student with the knowledge to get the sound they are hearing in their head onto recorded medium. All of the following can be covered on a basic ...

About George F.

I've been playing and singing music professionally for about 20 years. As a family man and father of two, I also I earn my living and support my family with music. I have a very student-driven teaching style, work with students of all ages, with focus on helping the student achieve his or her individual goals, small or large. I try to keep the lessons fun but focused at the same time.

I bring a balanced and personalized teaching style to my lessons, based on a well rounded education and wide range of real-world life experience. I have a B.A. in Liberal Arts and have performance experien
ce on many different fronts, from local rock cover bands to Top 40, from acoustic soloist to fronting a nationally touring Metallica tribute.

I come from a musical family - my father is also a pro musician. The biggest thing I've learned as a teacher of guitar, bass and voice is teaching the instrument has only made me a bigger student. The learning process never ends and that is one of the great things about music.

No matter where you are with the instrument - a beginner picking it up for the first time, or a seasoned pro of 10 years that just needs help "putting it together," I believe I can help you to get wherever you want to go.

Regarding availability - make sure to inquire if you don't see a time open that suits you - I am flexible. I perform 4-6 times a week and teach full time. Flex lessons tend to work very well.

Brian W.

North Olmsted, OH

About Brian

Brian has strong and diverse musical experiences to share as a teacher of piano beginning to intermediate), bass (all levels) and guitar (beginning to intermediate). He has also worked successfully as musical director, studio/touring musician, arranger and piano technician. Originally from the Washington, D.C. area, Brian is now based out of North Olmsted, OH.

As a teacher, Brian has taught privately for over ten years. Many of his students have gone on to forge their own successful, musically inspired careers. His local arts and charitable affiliations in Northeast Ohio are extensive.
In September, 2008 he affiliated his bass instruction studios with Royalton Music Center (North Royalton, OH)
and Studio 42 (Brunswick, OH). Through his work with the "Moss Stanley Trio" as "Cats On Holiday" Brian has provided extensive, "approachable" musical performance workshops for the Cleveland Metroparks and dozens of schools and libraries throughout NE Ohio. Not given to musical prejudgment, he instills confidence in his students as they prepare to take the stage, whether it is Severance Hall or the American Legion Hall.

As a recording artist, touring musician and perfomer, Brian has backed such legendary and diverse entertainers as American jazz greats Lionel Hampton and Doc Severson ("The Tonight Show"), children's programming pioneer Sheri Lewis (& Lamb Chop), Actor McLean Stevenson (M*A*S*H). He has performed extensively in Asia and the Caribbean. His studio bass, vocals and narrative can be heard on numerous CDs, most recently for Cleveland's own Cats On Holiday ("Workin' Man", COHTONE Records, 2007). Brian works in a scalable performance format with the Nitebridge Entertainment Group and is a first call bassist for regional performance and session work.

Brian's training began at age 3 with 18* woofer speaker and Ella Fitzgerald record. At age 9, he began his formal training on string bass in a progressive public school program in Prince William County, VA. He was fortunate to have excellent, dedicated teachers who brought out the best, including two years of private piano instruction. He taught himself bass guitar and at age 15 was selected to perform for the President as part of the American Bicentennial. With guidance from band director Roger Meyer, he co-arranged his first work for jazz orchestra at 17 and was tapped to perform for two seasons as a
bassist/vocalist for Kings Dominion (a Paramount corporation) theme park. He also interned as a production assistant and stagehand for the summer concert series. He continued his study of bass at ACU in Abilene, TX. Brian commuted to Denton, TX periodically for private instruction on upright bass with Master Teacher Dave Stone (Frank Sinatra, Barbara Streisand). Brian was a
member of the San Angelo (TX) Symphony and the Abilene Philharmonic. He is dedicated to a lifelong study of music theory, arranging and instrumental performance.

In teaching situations, Brian is noted for his patience, resourcefulness, thoroughness and his innate sense of approach to convey ideas. In the studio, he is appreciated for his relaxed and professional demeanor. His ability to balance creatively rhythmic lines with his one take, on the mark sight reading keeps him in demand.

*** Lesson Details ***
Brian enjoys teaching students who want to learn and want to improve. My credibility of experience ("street cred"), laid back but thorough style combined with the knowledge of what methods work. I am patient but highly goal oriented to what motivates the student learn. I like to try new things, challenge old concepts and continually improve. I expect the best from my students by helping them see the best in themselves. They don't disappoint.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Piano, Guitar (electric and acoustic), Upright Bass, Electric Bass

*** Specialties ***
I am classically trained but also adept in improvisation. I play and teach all styles of American and Western European music, including but not limited to rock (classic, alt, metal), r&b/soul/funk, latin and Afro Cuban, popular/show, and contemporary Christian.

He's really excited about what he's teaching and he knows alot about music theory and the fretboard. He may need to slow down for me and stop referring to the notes until I actually catch up which may be longer. I really was excited to learn the things he taught but my fingers aren't catching up. That is also slowing down what I learned at first. He went out and got a requested James Taylor book for me that had TAB that I had never seen before and now I can relate it to what he's teaching. I also have a scales book that goes two octaves. Brian suggested learning one octave so that I can really know the notes.

Brian is an excellent teacher and works well with our son. He has helped him develop new key skills on the double bass, as well as gain confidence on the more challenging pieces his orchestra is taking on this season. On a personal level, Brian is very friendly and does a great job communicating both with our son and ourselves. He makes us feel at home, and our son enjoys working with him. We are looking forward to our son really growing through these lessons. I would highly recommend Brian to other students.
