Nero C. Philadelphia, PA

Strumming, jazz chords, or just adapt your favorite songs to the uke.

About Nero

I have been teaching music for 20 years. I grew up on the 2nd floor of my father's music store in Central PA and have been around music my whole life. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from the University of the Arts where I studied jazz guitar with Pat Martino, Jimmy Bruno, Steve Giordano, and Tom Giacabetti. I was one of the original teachers during the formative years at the Paul Green School of Rock Music where I later went on to be the Music Director of the Philadelphia and Downingtown Schools. During that time, I helped many students prepare and get accepted to music schools, ran and developed music summer camps, and organized concerts where the students performed the music of Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, and many more of rock's finest band at every major venue in ...

Mandolin Lessons

I recently started playing mandolin on my own - and decided to take lessons to make sure that my technique was correct. -- All I can say is that Nero is the best music teacher I have ever had - not to mention, a gifted musician. He makes learning fun, and his approach and patience allows you to easily pick up new techniques and skills. I hope to take lessons with Nero for a long time!!!!
Simon S. Philadelphia, PA

About Simon

Hi ! My name is Simon. I have an Associate Diploma from the Illawarra Institute of Technology in N.S.W, Australia. I have a strong passion for music and want to pass that on through a relaxed learning environment full of fun, energy and enthusiasm. I have taught guitar in both public and private schools and also for 7 summers at a summer camp. I teach from years 6 and above and any level. I teach all styles but my favorites would have to be rock, folk, fingerstyle and alternative. I like to teach with the focus on the needs of the student; I keep a balance between theory and practice to encourage the student and promote confidence in a non pressured atmosphere. I had a great private music teacher when I was younger so I hope I can be that source to anyone who has an interest in music!

Luis G. Ardmore, PA

About Luis

I am a husband and father of 3 girls [Elaine, Grace and Emma]. I studied Music Performance with a concentration in Classical Guitar at Eastern University, where I met my wife Allison who currently teaches Voice and Piano with Take Lessons. I just recently received my Honorable Discharge for 8 years in the US Army and work at The University of Pennsylvania in the School of Medicine. I am currently taking classes at the University of Pennsylvania to finish my degree in Music. I'm very easy going and patient. I focus on technique and music reading skills rather than building repertoire. I would rather a student that is confident in their ability to play a few songs to a high standard than an unsure student that can play many to a lower standard. As far as my own musical interests, I ...

Guitar
this teacher is the best

I think you should really pick Luis G. because he is very good at explaining things to me. Another thing I really like about having him as a teacher is that some times I forget he's my teacher ; I feel like he's one of my friends. That's somethings that I think is great because you can be open and not feel weird around him at all. I think He is really good at what he does and thats teaching Guitar and making people have fun with it!

Mason B. Macungie, PA

Ukulele was recently added to my curriculum in the past 2 years. I consider ukulele to be one of the most simple methods of getting that great music hobby in to anyone's life. We will study how theory applies to the instrument while learning and performing easy to learn songs selected by the student. Music is fun, and the ukulele proves it! Advanced theory and techniques used by contemporary famous ukulele players including Jake Shimabakuro and James Hill will be considered.

About Mason

My Name is Mason and I've been teaching music to students of all ages since I was 14. I originally taught at a facility near Reading, PA called Zeswitz. While I worked there I studied along side other seasoned professionals in genres like jazz, heavy metal and folk styles. Currently I run a small business. My experience, since I was 8 years old, was built on private lessons from select very accomplished and certified guitarists. I also played in several profitable bands including jazz duos, classic rock trios and currently a blues duo with my lovely wife. I'm also always building and helping local bands. I'm very pro learning and never satisfied with my playing enough to say I don't have to practice any longer. I share to same attitude towards my students. There are always new grounds to ...

Music Performance
I've been a student for a few years now. As a producer, I lack the ability to perform. Mason goes beyond traditional curriculum and helps me use the abilities I already have to bring to the stage. I am pretty skilled in my musical career, but now I'm becoming polished. Thank you! Absolutely recommend!
