Very caring and talented instructor.

My daughter and I have been taking lessons from Kira for a little over a year, we couldn't be happier! We are learning by way of the Suzuki Method. My daughter was five when we started.
Kira is adept at explaining things in ways we can both understand. She is very intuitive and switches up the lessons to keep my daughter excited and engaged. We consider her a gem of a teacher, a rare find.

Erica Q. Brooklyn, NY

I teach the Suzuki Method and focus on playing by ear to allow you to develop great technique, intonation and enjoyment of playing music. We will later focus on music theory, sight reading and exploring any genre of music you're interested in after establishing a strong foundation.

About Erica

I'm a multi-intrumentalist, songwriter, and singer. I've toured internationally performing my original music as well as playing multiple instruments in bands. I produce and record music that can be heard in film and television. I teach several instruments and genres of music and take your tastes and learning style into utmost consideration. I always begin with practical exercises to develop technique, then we can focus on playing the music you love. To vocal students I teach exercises that develop technique and allows you to explore your voice. I will help you learn to make sounds you love. Singing is created by breath and muscles which we have full access to. Anyone can learn with proper focus, care and practice. I can also help you with recording and microphone technique as this is ...

What an amazing website of resources. I don't think it would have been possible for me to have pursued a long time desire to take lessons again with my crazy schedule AND to find such a thoughtful and enthusiastic teacher as Erica! I was probably looking at achieving some combination of musical therapy and musical cognition with a deep yearning to get back to some core basics that as a younger musician I was in too much of a hurry to focus on ( I certainly got all of the above!) The priceless piece about Erica was her innate ability to connect in such a joyful way to wherever I was in my rather unpredictable musical path. She filled me with laughter, ideas and a new way to look at my instrument. Thank you so much for being my temporary guide - some day I look forward to coming back for more. If you are looking for a teacher - please consider starting here - you won't be disappointed!

Erica is wonderful! Very encouraging, always cheerful and pushes me to work hard without it feeling like work.

Prior to starting lessons with Erica, I was hesitant to pick up learning an instrument as an adult, but it has already been so rewarding, and I always leave my lessons feeling energized and excited!

Erica is amazing! My daughters have had weekly lessons with her for the better part of a year, and we feel so fortunate to have found her. My eight- and six-year-old daughters have very different personalities (one is insecure and prone to anxiety, and the other can stubborn and has difficulty focusing sometimes), and she works wonderfully with both of them. She is kind yet pushes them to their abilities. I don't know if I love her knowledge or calm demeanor more, they're both so invaluable when teaching kids! Her talent will also astound you. She is an excellent role model for my girls, and I cannot recommend her enough!
Erin E. Brooklyn, NY

I teach Suzuki method and traditional viola. I absolutely love the viola and enjoy teaching beginners, people who have already studied, and violinist converts!

About Erin

I fell in love with the violin at age seven under the instruction of Natalie Colbert at E. Rivers Elementary School in Atlanta, GA. I studied violin through high school and college, and received a BA in Communications with a Minor in Music from Georgia State University. After a lifelong study of the violin, I began to play the viola as a happy accident. As an undergraduate student in college, my chamber music group needed a violist to play the Schubert Trout Quintet. Never one to turn down a challenge, I jumped right in and never looked back, and have played viola in addition to violin ever since. I'm eager and enthusiastic to share my knowledge of music. I am passionate about enabling students to express themselves through music. I teach students of all ages, but particularly love

Erin is the Best!! I have started taking lessons again as an adult and Erin is just as excited as I am as I become familiar once again with my instrument. In a nutshell- it is so much fun and a highlight after my long work week. I can't wait until my son is old enough to play. I have no doubt that she is awesome with kids.

Concetta was such a treat to have in our home! She came out all the way from NY to NJ for my mothers birthday, and though she is a beginner, emerged from the 1 hour lesson so inspired to keep practicing, able to fully complete her first song! She even did a little performance at the end on the lesson! She is a great people person, fun to talk to, and she really knows her stuff. Excellent choice!

I have learned more in just three lessons with Concetta than I learned after three months of once a week lessons with an instructor from a music store.

Concetta has a natural gift to teach and an ability to allow even a musical novice, like me, understand basic music theory.

This talented young lady eat, sleeps and breathes music.

When I met Concetta online, I had never played the Mandolin before. Now after 4 going on 5 months I am in the beginning stages of learning Vivaldi's Concerto for Mandolin. This feat was accomplished by Concetta's knowledge, understanding and compassion for this student who was clumsy, awkward and with little self confidence. I now know where I want to go with the Mandolin and with Concetta's guidance and wisdom, I know I will be given a strong foundation to achieve it. This has been the best experience for me and I know it will also be for you as well....:)
Nicholas P. Brooklyn, NY

I suggest viola to young students that already have violin experience, as well as to adults looking for a deeper sound at the early stages. Viola is my primary performance instrument.

About Nicholas

Welcome! I am a full-time violin/viola teacher from New York and a registered member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas. I am an active performer of contemporary and classical music, and my commitment is to instill my students with both a passion for playing music and a strong technical foundation. My teaching method is tailored to each student's individual learning style and motivation for playing. The first question I will ask at every first lesson is: what music do you love? This can be one song - a nursery rhyme, classical melody, or popular song - or a genre of music. Regardless of age, I believe that the most effective path for learning violin or viola is to start with the music! For younger children, I suggest beginning with the Suzuki method in order to establish ...

As helpful as they come, Nick has bent over backwards to make sure our 6-yr-old daughter was outfitted with the right violin and bow. As an absolute beginner when she began a couple of months ago, she's impressing us now with her new skills.

Instructor/Teacher/Friend; I do not know where to begin with this tutor of music from The Celestial Spheres. He is my own Orphic Music Instructor. In that he 'Inspires", and makes one want to practice and go with him! It's a conception easily understood, once you get going with him in learning. And if you know? Well! You'll know far more. And this can be said on all levels.
I don't know if these comments are actually looked at or reviewed in some way, but he's a raw talent in many ways, and I can see for All ages :)
