As a classically-trained pop pianist of 19 years, I love teaching my students the language of music. Whether you want to learn basics, expand your classical technique, or learn how to play your favorite pop songs, I'm ready to take your self-expression to the next level! I can't wait to start this journey with you. In your first few lessons, you'll learn basic music theory as well as piano etiquette, and even a few songs! As we go on, we will also incorporate ear training and more complex pieces, selected based on your personal goals. I can't wait to start this journey with you!

For beginning piano students, I use Marilyn Lowe's Music Moves for Piano series. If a student already has purchased piano books or has piano books from an older sibling, I would not ask the student to purchase more books until we had used what they already had to its full capacity. For adults and older beginners, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level.
About Ceste
I'm a passionate, motivated instructor who loves working with students of all ages. In 2003, I graduated from Bryan College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education with a vocal emphasis and in 2011, I graduated from James Madison University with a Masters of Arts degree in Music Educat

She practices using the Alexander Method. Her expertise in how the body affects the voice actually gave me a ton of useful information to successfully identify the cause of some chronic health/pain issues (although she never offers medical advice, I was able to integrate her feedback about what was affecting the quality of my voice into medical care with my Drs).
Thanks Ceste!

I teach students to play all genres of music from beginning to advanced levels.
I can teach to play by reading sheet music and/or by ear (which means to play music without needing the sheet music in front of you)
All Levels are welcome

I've taught many Piano students at a private music academy, ranging from small children to adults. For a beginner, we will focus on fundamentals, as good technique is an investment in future success. I use a well-respected Piano method book for all my students, and many of them have had great success under my instruction.

I have been the principal bassist of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra since 2017. Upright bass is the only instrument that I perform on professionally but I've been playing piano since I was seven years old. My teaching is influenced by a lot of my experience as a professional upright bass player. I start off my young piano students in the Piano Adventures books and I start adults in the Bastian Piano for Adults. Both of these series give a solid foundation and present new concepts at a good pace. I also use materials by Bartok, Hanon, Czerny, and other composers to fit individual students' needs.
About Cory
I have been the principal bassist of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra since 2017 and professor of double bass at Nazareth College since 2019. I grew up around Atlanta, GA and started playing piano when I was around 7 years old and bass and guitar when I was 11. Most of my education has been

As you're playing the piano, does it feel like your left hand just can't keep up with the right? Here, Corona, CA teacher Milton J. shares a few piano exercises to add to your practice to target this common struggle... The dreaded left hand. The hand with a mind of its own, the hand that lags behind the right, and the hand that does not seem that smart. While all of these conjectures are common, it stems from a lack of detailed attention to developing the accompanying left hand in conjunction …
