I've been banging on the piano since I was 3, but piano became more structured when I turned 7 and I've loved piano so much since then! I've been classically trained in the US and then later in Italy so all together I have 17 years piano playing experience. My favorite genre is Modern Japanese Classical music (fancy name for anime and video game music). While studying abroad with my Maestro in Italy however, I was only allowed to play classical music so I became even more proficient in that musical genre.
I have been teaching Children and Adult students for 7 years. People aren't' intimidated when I'm around and I believe students benefit greatly when they are comfortable with the teacher and can feel natural around them. The teaching process is most successful when the students share their ideas, disagreements, goals; when th
ey are challenged and test their abilities.
***Lesson Details***
I am very laid back and love to laugh, but I do expect the students to be prepared and practice, this way they benefit the most from each teaching session. I believe students should be involved in their curriculum, so I encourage all to bring in pieces THEY WANT to play because this will make the learning process overall more fun and enjoyable. My trust is, if you practice regularly you can accomplish much in a short period of time. Whatever you put into learning piano, is what you will get out, whether great or small.
***Specialties***
- Modern Japanese Classical : Yoko Shimamura, Nobuo Uematsu ...
(Video Game and Anime)
- Classical : Joplin, Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff ...
- Italian Technique Training

I started taking flute lessons with Stephanie last September 2016. I have been playing flute since 2011 and play regularly at church. I take a hour long lesson. I have really enjoyed taking lessons from her. She has also been willing to adjust to my schedule, when she could, when work won’t allow me to make it to my normal lesson.
I had been taking lessons from another flute teacher since 2011 and knew it was time to change. Stephanie has always been able to help me. She is very knowledgeable about all questions and problems I was having on playing the flute or reading music. When questioning a technique she is able to demonstrate it or explain it in a different way so I could understand it. I’ve always had trouble with the high notes and alternate fingering and she definitely has helped me on those. Stephanie personally is a lot more enjoyable than my last teacher. She always seems happy to see me.
I also play Low Flutes and just bought my first Bass Flute. She also plays low flutes.

About Kristie
Kristie is a professional musician based in Las Vegas, with a strong background in both teaching and performing music. She has over ten years of experience teaching music lessons to students of all ages and levels. Kristie is accepting new students for weekly 40-minute lessons.

*** Kristie's Teaching Background ***
Kristie graduated summa cum laude and with Honors with a Bachelor of Music in harp and piano performance from the University of Arizona in 2004, where she studied with Dr. Paula Fan, Regents Professor of Piano and principal pianist of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra. Kristie was honored as the Outstanding Senior of her undergraduate class. She is now a doctoral candidate at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University.

As a doctoral candidate at Indiana University, Kristie has the background and capability to teach beg
inning to advanced students. With a doctoral minor field in music theory, Kristie provides students with a thorough understanding of how music actually works.

Kristie also teaches improvisation and playing from lead sheets.

*** Ten Great Reasons to Join Kristie's Music Studio ***
1. Kristie loves to really get to know her students, so that she can tailor lessons to fit each student's particular goals and interests.
2. One of Kristie's foremost priorities as a teacher is to help her students learn to teach themselves. Independent learning skills are valuable in all areas of life, particularly schoolwork.
3. Kristie seeks a balance between challenging her students and cultivating creativity.
4. As a professional musician with over fifteen years of experience, Kristie has the capability to take those students who are serious about playing music from the absolute beginning to the advanced collegiate level.
5. Kristie is a nationally award-winning musician known for her impeccable technique, beautiful tone, and precise rhythm. She is committed to imparting these qualities to her students.
6. Kristie uses her strong background in music theory to help her students understand how music is put together, from the simplest concepts of key and meter to complex theories of phrasing.
7. Kristie teaches a range of musical skills, including improvisation and composition.
8. Kristie has been privileged to study with wonderful, internationally respected teachers. She loves to learn and is active in the musical community, both online and locally. This allows her to continually add to her knowledge of the piano and her teaching skills.
9. Kristie encourages all her students to have fun playing music!
10. Kristie's piano studio is a nurturing environment where students of all ages and all levels feel safe, welcome and supported in their musical journey.

*** Getting Started ***
At the first lesson, Kristie will get to know you and ask questions about your goals and interests, so that she can tailor the lessons to fit your needs.

If you are a brand-new beginner, Kristie will start with an introduction to music and get you going with several fun pieces to go home and practice.

If you are a transfer student or if you already play another instrument or sing, it is helpful to bring any previous or current music books and to be prepared to play a couple of pieces. These pieces do not necessarily need to be memorized or performance-ready; the idea is to give Kristie an idea of what you already know and where you would like to grow.

*** Lesson Details ***
For beginning piano students, Kristie uses the Faber method.

Lessons typically include music theory. Students will be given clear assignments to practice and complete.

Depending on the student's level, background, and interests, piano lessons may also include:
Scales, arpeggios, or études (technical development)
Improvisation and playing from lead sheets (for pop or jazz music)
Composition (learning how to create and notate your own music)

*** Studio Equipment ***
Kawai baby grand piano
Lyon and Healy harps

*** Special Needs ***
Please inquire, as this is on a case by case basis.

Kristie taught my son harp for 1.5 years before he left for college. He absolutely loved Kristie. She is patient, and makes the lessons interesting and engaging. She allows students to choose from a selection of music so that they learn how to play something they like. She encourages experimentation and engagement. My son wanted to learn the harp because it was interesting, not because he wanted to be a world class performer. Kristie really got that and made the lessons something he looked forward to every week. And she herself was a world class performer so if that's what you're looking for in a teacher, she can deliver that to. Kristie is a super teacher; my son still keeps in touch with her and says lessons with Kristie were one of the highlights of high school.

I was nervous walking into my first piano lesson, as I was COMPLETELY out of my element, though I knew that I had a passion to start learning. Kristie made me feel at home and reassured me that this was normal. She is extremely informative, and not only teaches you what you need to know, but explains WHY things are the way they are- which further developed my love for the music. Also, I have noticed that she is good at knowing where to start. She saw that I was picking it up quickly, so advanced quickly to challenge me more. Loved every lesson so far, and look forward to the future ones as well!!!!

David is a very skilled drummer and a very enthusiastic teacher. In lessons, he seems to like to split time between practicing rudiments and learning to play different rhythms on the set. He is also exceptionally patient and supportive with my 9-year-old, highly distractible daughter. David is very positive, pointing out things that are going well and interesting rhythms that they discover. I am really glad we found David--he is an excellent teacher and I love watching my daughter learn so much about music!

About Jamie
Hey! My name is Jamie Bekyarovich. I’ve been playing Guitar since I was 11 years old and have loved every second of it. Although I’m primarily a rock musician, I take pride in being able to play and teach many different musical genres from Rock N’ Roll, Heavy Metal, Jazz, Classical, Blues, Acoustic, Pop, and Funk.
I went to a music oriented high school, I’ve played in a multitude of different bands.
I also have a diploma in applied music from Mohawk College’s Contemporary Music program where I studied Jazz guitar, music production, and teaching methods.
I have 6 years of teaching experience including freelance work, and institutional work, as well as 8 years experience recording and mixing music.

In my experience teaching it’s become completely clear that every student is different. They learn differently, have different goals, mus
ical tastes, aspirations, and all face different obstacles and challenges. For this reason i do not teach a standard curriculum. I like to customize each student’s learning experience to best suite their individual needs. I find that by doing this, students retain their interest and love for music, they start setting and accomplishing goals, and as a result become not just a more confident musician, but a more confident individual. Once students start setting goals for themselves and accomplishing things they thought they never could, they begin to realize that you can do anything you put your mind to as long as you work hard, believe in yourself, and never give up.

Guitar lessons are all online and accepted from anywhere in the world (English speaking only), Im currently working on setting up multiple camera angles for the best possible experience.

For best experience weekly lessons are recommended.

[ Make Up Lessons:
Every now and then I may need to reschedule one of our lessons around a gig or recording session, but I try my very best to avoid doing so. I’m also understanding when students need to reschedule a lesson]

Feel free to ask any other questions you may have.

[Things to think about before our first guitar lesson (I will be asking you these questions either before or during our first lesson)

1. Who are some of your favourite musicians/bands? - What are some of your favourite songs?
2. Do you have any experience playing guitar?
3. What are your aspirations? (Hobbyist? Rock Star? Campfire Guitarist?)
4. What would you like to be able to play on the guitar by this time next year?]

Things to think about before our first Pro Tools lesson.

1. Do you have any experience recording music?
2. Do you have any experience inside of Pro Tools.
3. Find 3 recordings(songs) where you absolutely love the production.

Jamie's been coming to my house once a week for the last 8 months. I used to play guitar when i was a teenager and decided to take it up again as a hobby since my kids have gone off to University and i have some free time available to me.
At first we worked on relearning the chords i had forgotten, after a couple of months we started learning some Neil Young and Leonard Cohen songs. Im very pleased, never in my life until now have i been able to play a full song from start to finish!
Thanks Jay - See you on Thursday!

Ive been taking lessons from Jamie for almost 3 years now and I couldn't be happier with the results! When i first approached him for lessons I was already a fairly decent guitarist but i was having an extremely hard time playing and making my own solos, I told him exactly what i wanted to be able to do and he tailored made each lesson to my goals. He helped brake down the process of learning a guitar solo AND improvising my own solos. Some of the areas we covered we're technique, theory, lifting solos by ear, and how to execute musical phrases with complete confidence.
10/10 would recommend! ...This guy's a beast!

About Daniel
I am a college student currently studying music and business in the great city of Huntington Beach, California. Numerous hours have been spent studying music theory, technique, songs, and genres of music such as jazz, pop, metal, and R&B.

Growing up as a kid, music was the most important thing to me. So the next thing I did was pick up a guitar at the age of 12 and look up guitar lesson after guitar lesson; I was pretty much obsessed. The knowledge I have gained throughout the next 8 years have gave me so many opportunities to teach friends, family, and hundreds of high school students. As of today, my knowledge of the guitar is still expanding and can help you on your journey to become the guitarist you've always wanted to be.

When I teach, I don't want to bore you with tons of technical terms or loads of music theory. I want you to
have a blast and feel confident playing whatever it is you want to play. Even practicing the little things should be fun! I would love to hear your input on what you want to achieve from playing so that we can both zoom in on your own goals and reach them, and even aim higher than that if you'd like! Whether you're a beginner or an intermediate player, it'd be an honor to jam with you.

My genre specialties include soul, R&B, pop, metal, and indie. If you wish to learn the technicalities of the guitar, I'd be more than happy to do so. If you're looking to jam out, i'd also be happy to do so.

I have also won numerous awards for my piano skills, most notably:
• 1st prize in the 5th Piano Festival at the Washington Conservatory of Music. The judges Bradford Gowen and Jose Ramos-Santana, for the first time in the history of the festival, awarded me the Certificate of Merit.
• 1st
prize in solo category and 3rd prize in concerto category at the “Music Without Limits” competition in Lithuania, which was also my first orchestral debut.
• 1st prize at the George Mason University Music Competition
• The Luciana Montanari-Mendola Award presented by The Italian Cultural Society of Washington D.C.

I have also performed numerous times with orchestra, including the Symphony Orchestra of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, conducted by maestro Laurynas Sadauskas, and Washington Conservatory Orchestra, conducted by Scott Wood.

I have dedicated my life to the piano, and now, I would like to share my knowledge and love for music with others, of all ages and skill levels. I believe that it is important for me to share what I know about the art of piano performance to ensure that this skill is passed on to future generations, regardless if it is for simple personal enjoyment, or a competitive professional pursuit of mastery of the skill.

My goal is to enable students to feel confident in expressing themselves though music, while polishing their technical skills and expressing their emotions through the powerful musical language. I have taught in individual/private and group settings over the past four years I have been at New England Conservatory. I have a Bachelors degree in Viola Performance, and have had 18 years of education on both violin and viola, in solo, orchestral, and chamber music settings (my favorite!). My hope for all musicians is that we cultivate the drive and ability to share our gift with others!

I began studying the violin and viola using the Suzuki method when I was just three years old. Since then, I have played with several professional, semi-professional, and youth orchestras and chamber ensembles. With my quartets Lumière, Vox, and Highland Stre
et, I have won first prizes in several competitions including the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition and competitions hosted by: Merit School of Music, Society of American Musicians, Midwest Young Artists, Rembrandt Chamber Players, and more. I was also featured in string quartets that performed for at the White House and the Kennedy Center. As a soloist, I have performed with the Oistrach Symphony Orchestra (DePaul University) , been featured on NPR's "From the Top", and performed with the Sphinx Symphony Orchestra as a laureate of their 17th and 18th competitions.

Recently, I have expanded on my teaching experience with short tours and residencies in Banff, AB, Canada, Napa Valley, CA, several cities in Brazil, and Boston, MA. I got to learn from the great and I aim to parley my experience to others looking to learn!
