Acrylic Painting Lessons in Varnville. Amazing Teachers.

Depending on level we start with the basics and work our way up. There are NO mistakes in painting and I have 15 years experience, so I'm very patient. We work through what the student wants to achieve and go from there. I specialize in abstract and fluid painting.

Whether you are wanting to learn how to paint using acrylic paints because it is something you have always wanted to learn or you are looking to learn new techniques, I am here to guide you! Lessons are customized and catered to the needs/goals of each student. Not only will you be painting in no time, but you will be building a strong foundation of color theory, drawing techniques, hand sight coordination techniques, and more. I have been painting for over fifthteen years in a variety of scales including large murals to small canvases. I am as eager to share basic to advance techniques as you are to learn. Self expression and painting techniques are a tool nobody can take from you once you have learned and embraced the art of painting. I have a degree in Art Practice from UC Berkeley and have taught 2nd grade students and adults as well. Let's get painting!

Acrylic Painting 101

This still-life lessons will emphasize finding the rhythm in painting and learning when to make the shifts between balancing composition, drawing and color within a painting.

The workshop will commence from setting up a still-life and working out a composition with thumbnail sketches, then developing a color study, and then an open grisaille, the actual painting, working out the drawing issues, color development, keeping paint layers thin and even, and finding the areas where there would be more build-up of impasto and texture, and finally the last touch: removing what is not needed, and adding finishing details.

Daphney works as a nutritionist but in her spare time loves to teach painting classes. She is self-taught artist with 5 years of experience teaching kids and adults introductory painting classes. After receiving her BSN in dietetics Daphney pursued education in art therapy and health coaching. Her work consists of counseling corporate group settings, families, one on one support by using the power of mindfulness, and positive thinking while integrating healing through art therapy.

My work includes; empowering sessions, classes and workshops; heart felt intentional living, nutrition, mindfulness, creative expression, painting classes, and nurturing pregnant belly painting.

Educated in Europe, I was always inspired by my teachers and travels to continue honing my artistic skills. With practice, anybody can develop their own style, and I believe it's my duty to pass on the knowledge that was instilled in me as a young artist.
