Very good instructor, I have had two lessons so far with Lawrence. The first lesson he introduced me to the type of software he uses, he referred me to certain websites I should check out, like chessgames.com where we analyzed some master games in the opening that I play and an overview of what we would cover in lessons. My second lessons we worked on some tactics and some positions because I wanted to focus on more of my middle game. And he also helped prepare me for an upcoming tournament I am playing in by going over my openings. His explanations are clear, and he provides many additional resources to explore and study.

I have been playing chess for 35 years. I play generally three times a week and win regularly. I have taught the game to over 100 people in my life. I mentor a number of young people who strongly believe that my chess instruction and the applicable thought logic lessons I inculcate have escalated their job options. I prefer students at the introductory levels to eliminate bad habits.

Combination of approaches of US CHESS SCHOOL AND SCHOLASTIC CENTERS and FORMER SOVIET SCHOOL AND STANDARDS will help you to get broader chess basis understanding and gain advantage over the opponents.
I have a great opportunity for sharing my knowledge gained at Soviet chess club along with US Chess and Scholastic Center education boosting myself and my students from the very beginner to advanced players.
My teaching style is progressive and tailored to the individual student. Each lesson builds on what was learned before. We go over games that the student has played, especially losses to higher rated players. For beginning players and juniors I teach the fundamentals and build from there. Suggested books are Comprehensive Chess Course, for beginners, and Chess The Easy Way by Reuben Fine, for more advanced players.

Chris is an excellent teacher and he's really helped me improve my game. In one lesson he showed me an opening that I used to win against a strong player. We go over games that I've played and he always has helpful suggestions. I highly recommend Chris as a chess teacher.

"Atousa is a great instructor. Definitely recommend her to anyone looking to start playing or improve chess skills."
"Great lesson! He made sure everything was understandable, and easy to remember."
"Great first lesson. Eric was very knowledgeable and helpful!"
"This is my 2nd review now for Atousa - which alone says all good about her. I've had 5 lessons with her, and Atousa is AMAZING! She has just about the P
ERFECT COMBINATION of Method and Expertise. Patience - yep, she has that. Encouraging - yep, check that box too. She is not a time stickler; she will go up and beyond to help you learn your stuff! The ONLY challenge I ever have is with the technology with SKYPE - and that is decidedly NOT on Atousa. If there is a quality on desires, seeks in Tutor/Teacher - I dare say Atousa possesses it and manifests it in ABUNDANCE! I can't Recommend Atousa enough. If you want to get good at Chess - Atousa is a BRILLIANT mind and EXCEPTIONAL teacher! You won't be sorry! :) :) :)"
"Mr. Siddharth is an excellent chess teacher with great patience and experience! My son has been enjoying the chess classes he teaches online."
